I just got a crown. I had a large filling fall out and the dentist said I needed a crown. I let him put in a temporary one but it wasn't until he took the temporary one out and I put my tongue on my tooth that I realized he had ground it down to fit the crown. Then I read I could have gotten something else - onlay, maybe. I'm just sick at myself for letting myself get rushed into a temporary crown. My poor tooth is less than it was and it will never be the same. Now I'm reading how crowns smother the natural tooth putting me at risk for root canal, extraction, etc.
Anyone have tips on how to take care of a crown? Is there anything at all I can do now that my poor tooth has been ground down. I am so upset about this.
