A question for all pregnant ladies on MDC!

Is anyone feeling great in their first trimester or throughout their pregnancy? This is my second pregnancy and my first two were awful with symptoms and puking, etc. I'm 5 weeks and feel great. My only real symptoms are forgetfulness, off and on sore boobs, slightly more hungry, and nesting. Anyone else like this? I just can't believe I'm not falling over from tiredness or have heartburn or throwing up.

Yup.  Same thing here.  My first two were rife with symptoms, especially m/s.  I'm almost 17 weeks right now and other than sore boobs really don't have symptoms.  I was even questioning the reality of the whole thing up until our 13 week u/s.  At this point though the baby bump keeps me rooted in reality as much as possible.  I'm just waiting for movement to really make it real.

Did the sickness go along with one sex of the baby?

Don't know what this one is, but the first 2 were boys.  We're thinking this one is a girl because the pg is so different.  The symptoms are different for everyone though.  Some people have crazy m/s with their girls.

I'm 14 weeks pregnant with our second and have been slightly sick but NOTHING compared to how sick I was with my son.  I have still been really tired and hungry but hardly sick to my stomach, a little sick in weeks 8-10, but never threw up.  We are thinking this one might be a girl.... anyone else notice a difference between pregnancies and the sex of the baby??

Sickies did not start with this pregnancy until week 6 and only lasted until week 10. I am now 11 weeks and am pretty sure morning sickness is behind me!

Good luck, hopefully you will escape morning sickness.

sick yuckies started for me in week 6 with all 3 of my girls and lasted till 3 months...this is early in my fourth pregnancy and nothing yet!!

just sore boobs, scatterbrained ( went to get my wallet out of my purse, got my keys instead ...looked down and laughed at myself!)  and these weird shooting stabber pains in my...rectum I thinkSheepish.gif and a bit of restless legs...4 weeks preggo for me.

never get heartburn as a symptom though thank goodness

Nothing here, except tiredness. Nearly week 10 of my first pregnancy.

Sounds like my girl pregnancy.

My boy pregnancy I was icky sicky nauseous from 5 weeks - 14 weeks.

Girl pregnancy I was icky sicky nauseous from 8-10 weeks

This pregnancy it started at 5 weeks and is still going strong at 13 weeks, I'm thinking BOY

Well I'm about to give birth but looking back, I was way sicker this pregnancy from weeks 6-16 and I'm having a boy. My other 3 pregnancies were all girls and I wasn't nearly as nauseous (with my first, I was only nauseous 3 times total). I don't mean vomiting just queasiness, yucky stomach and aversion to the sight of food. This time, it was awful!

This is all reassuring.  This is my first, and other than some nausea and serious food aversions from weeks 6 to 7, I've had pretty much nothing.  I'm definitely tired and my boobs are sore (they start out fine in the morning and then get worse as the day goes on), but other than some minor bloating and uterine cramping/stretching, I feel like there's nothing there.  I was hit hard by fatigue early on, but that seems to be much better too.  It's been stressful not having the "normal" symptoms!  U/S is scheduled for 1/5, so I'll hopefully find out everything is going well then.

FWIW, my mom had terrible m/s with her girls, and none with my brother, so there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to m/s and gender of the baby.

I find that my clients tend to think something is wrong if they are free of upsetting symptoms during their pregnancies.  I tell them - Congratulations!  - as this can be a positive thing.

Have a healthy and empowering pregnancy and beyond,

Nicole

Both pregnancies have been a dream thus far I'm 22weeks nowwinky.gif

I was very sick from weeks 6-8, but at about 8 1/2 weeks on no m/s and I'm having twins! I feel pretty lucky. Mostly I've been having the cramping from stretching, major fatigue and preggo brain. I am beginning to show already (in week 10) and it's my first pregnancy. I knew it was unlikely I'd make it to 12 weeks without a major difference in how my body looked due to the twins, but was amazed at the difference between just under 9 weeks and just over 10 weeks.

Deborah, congratulations on the twins!  How exciting.  We're about in the same boat.  I'm 9 weeks along today (by my estimates, which could be off), and other than some mild nausea, I've just had the cramping/stretching, though I was sicker with serious food aversions in weeks 6-8.  So far, I'm counting myself pretty lucky.  I'm not showing yet, but I've gained a pound or two.  And my belly swells throughout the day, which is somewhat annoying. Otherwise, feeling pretty awesome!

I'm 24 weeks with my first pregnancy and I feel great. I have been sick once, when I was at work and got overheated in a small space doing inventory. But other than that, it's been awesome. I had a burst of energy at 18 weeks and other than the two ear infections and one sinus infection, my body seems to enjoy being pregnant. I've actually lost six pounds and only thrown up once? I have been extremely active though. I was traveling an hour and a half round trip to school everyday as well as walking to classes, throwing ceramics, and chasing after DSS (3 yrs). I hope that when I am pregnant again it is as smooth as this has been!

Thanks LilyTiger! At last check I had only gained 3 pounds, but I suspect I've gained another pound or two. Although how you show and weight gain seem to have little to do with each other (at least so far for me).

I checked again and even AFTER I ate, I had lost one so my total weight gain in first tri is 2 pounds. I will have some making up to do in the 2nd and 3rd tris!

with my first i felt fine, normal, like i wasn't even pregnant, except that i was HUNGRY all the time in the beginning, mention food and i was starving.  Throughout the entire pregnancy.  I never felt the: i'm SO done with this around month 8.  I LOVED it all.

This time 'round there is some slight cramping and a little nausea all day long.  I haven't puked, but then I'm trying really hard to listen to what my body wants and when to stop.

My sister, otoh, was a miserable pregnant person and was sick a lot.  Different strokes for different folks.

I felt amazing at 5 weeks, too. I was even questioning people if that was normal - that I had NO SIGNS.

Then came 5w6d and all hell broke loose.  I got so sick - progressively got worse - that I was put on medication. I've been on meds since 9w2d. On top of that, I have every pregnancy sign/symptom ever recorded in history.
