Update --

We've had one major snafu so far. The kids (who both have keys to the house) locked themselves out. They left a note on door saying they went back to school. When I went to their school, they weren't there and no one remembered seeing them after school. Turns out they went to a friends house (on the other side of town) and didn't think we needed that information. They both have cell phones with unlimited texting (one of which was out of charge).

So DH and I kinda lost it.

We've changed a bunch of things -- we now have a special place to put keys and charge cell phones, which I check at bedtime. They text me when they get home. They are to text me if there is any change in their plans, as they now understand that I need to know where they are every minute of every day, which they really didn't know.

It all seems so .... what's a better word that "stupid"?..... to me. But they truly lacked the life experience to understand that leaving a note on the door saying you are one place and then not being there would send mommy into complete panic mode.

They get it now. It won't happen again.

Oh that must have been scary & infuriating! Glad it's all worked out now. There are always adjustments to make & so often things that are so obvious to us they have no frame of reference for. One thing at a time! wink1.gif
