Transition ideas to bring on new part-time nanny?

Hi mamas...

Can you please help me brainstorm ideas to help me transition to our new part-time nanny?  My daughter (26 months) has only ever been at home with me, her dad, or our current part-time nanny.  She's had the same "nanny," (who is really a friend of mine with her own kids) since she was 8 months old.  But, alas, our current nanny is moving, and we have found a sweet young nanny to replace her.  But now I'm trying to figure out how to make the transition as smooth as possible.

The good news is we have some time, and flexibilty.  I'm planning to overlap a bit, and have our new nanny there for blocks of time when I am home, and also when she is with the current nanny.  I want her to be fully trusting and well-bonded to the new nanny before the old one leaves.  Any ideas on specifically how to accomplish this?

Thanks,

Babygirlsmama

I'd do just how you described, have blocks of time where both of you are there. As she permits let the nanny do more and more with her and then try leaving the house and leave them there or send them off with you still there. Them leaving you is often easier then you leaving them. She may take right to her or need to work into it gradually beaded on her personality.

Is your dd normally reserved around new people?

We had to hire a new nanny this fall and our dd 15 mo at the time, fell in love with her instantly. You never know how it will work out until you see them together for a bit. We were planning to stay at home with them for several hours, but dd led new nanny into her room and waved bye bye to us like "you are free to go now please."
