I gave birth to my dd over three years ago. Â During pregnancy, I had high blood pressure, was borderline gestational diabetes, was on bed rest, and delivered early via a scheduled c-section due to potential complications. Â
Â
Throughout the pregnancy and afterward, I had what I now know were gallbladder attacks. Â I had my gallbladder out in January. Â The surgery went well, and I felt great afterward, but then I started feeling pain in my abdomen and went to the ER for what turned out to be an embolism. Â Since March, I've been taking a daily baby aspirin to dissolve a partial clot left in a small vein near my right ovary. I've also been put on BP medication to combat a high blood pressure post-surgery.
Â
Since the surgery, I've had a lot of throat and chest discomfort. Â I haven't been able to comfortably sleep on my stomach, and have had pains underneath my rib cage on my RH side. Â Sometimes, I swear it feels like I'm having another gallbladder attack. Â I've been to the doctor a number of times, and have had a CT scan and an MRI (that is when they found the clot after the ER visit). Â I've been told that everything is fine, but I know I am still feeling discomfort and pain.Â
Â
I found several threads on boards through Googling discussing post-cholecystectomy syndrome, and how some 40% of people have issues after gallbladder surgery.  The symptoms sound very similar to what I've been experiencing.
Â
It makes me nervous to go through another pregnancy and c-section (my ob has said this will likely be the case given my medical history). Â But I would love to have another child at some point.
Â
Has anyone else had complications like this?
