Amen to that nald! The grass is alway greener on the other side, I do have a couple of friends who are quite skinny and they deal with just as many insecurities about their bodies as my larger or medium sized friends. A woman's body is so beautiful because of its amazing, life giving abilities, no matter what size she is smile.gif with all that said... Man I would love to fit into my pre preg jeans!

I get a LITTLE jealous about people who own homes.  We are in a 600 square foot apartment.  We're ok, it's a bit cozy, but a house sure would be nice.  Our savings just won't cut it for a down payment at this point.  I live in an area where I would say the average cost of a home is at least 250k.  I'm really not sure how other people swing it.  But I guess less home is less to clean!

my DH and I both had small condos before getting married - and then a small house before our current home.  We often talk about how much less stress was involved with less space - it's REALLY hard keeping it clean and just gives us more room for more messes- another lesson in being ok with what we have, i guess

I totally get that Nald, even with just general repairs and upkeep- it would take away from so much of our family time.  I really do think every day about how lucky we are to be healthy with a healthy baby and a healthy relationship, we eat really great food - a lot of it organic, we have great friends, we both have cars, and we never worry about having to pay the bills.  With that said, every once in a while you have to indulge the "I wish..." thoughts.

I agree- I fantasize of how great other people's lives look from the outside.  I wish i had a clean car- ours is a DISASTER- we could live out of the snacks and extra clothes if needed!  I envy people with older kids because i assume they sleep and dont have pm meltdowns EVERY night- but I know id miss my babies.  I longed for a family when i was single and lived alone -  and now i long for 'alone' time and space to complete a thought!!!!  I think I will remind myself to be grateful for what I have and where Im at TODAY.  I had a quote up at one point in my life that fits :"Yearning is blindness"  ....my mantra for today.  Thanks Ladies!!

lately, Im envious of Moms who have ENERGY to deal and play with their preschoolers.  Sleep-deprivation leaves the simple things feeling HARD.  I miss feeling HAPPY and energetic vs slugging through the day

This is where I am. We have a tiny apartment and have to keep most of DS1's toys packed away because there just isn't room. I want more space!

I want bedroom furniture that didn't come from a previous relationship! I want a bigger bed for my co-sleeping family.  I want a writing desk and space to keep my Classics out. Right now I only have room for my poetry. I just want more space.

I'm jealous of those who don't have postpartum depression.

I'm jealous of those who can handle facebook. I deactivated my account because I'm way too sensitive for it at the moment. mecry.gif

We know that we'll be moving in a couple of months, but we don't know if we're renting or buying. It all hinges on whether or not we get a particular loan (I'm not getting my hopes up). praying.gif

I'm jealous of people who own their own homes and I'm jealous of people who manage to keep their homes more clean & orderly. puke.gif

I'm jealous of those who have MFAs, of those who make a living pursuing their passions. I'm jealous of those who have time to write and of absolutely every successful poet in existence, especially those who got a younger start.

I'm jealous of those with shorter lists of things they're jealous of. guilty.gif

I'm thankful for my husband and my boys, for my talent writing poetry & my passion in general. I'm thankful that we will be moving to a bigger home soon that I get to be a SAHM. I know that it's worth the current sacrifices.

This is me exactly. I yearned for a life partner and children for so many years. I eventually married a great man and together we have created 2 sweet, gorgeous sons. I am GRATEFUL to be home with them, but I LONG for some alone time. LONG.
