3 items from the fridge

30 items donated from the pantry to 'pay your library fines with food'  (counting this as $10 profit since I didn't need to pay the $10 in fines)  Donated more than was necessary and I will continue to donate as I clean out the pantry this week.  But I'm only taking $$ credit for the $10 in fines we had.

Two whole weeks since I posted!!  I have catching up to do on how everyone's decluttering has been going but wanted to post quickly.  27 more items gone this evening.  An umbrella stroller and 5 figurines to donation and 21 books to take to consignment.  The plan this weekend is to take a trip to the dump and a trip to the Goodwill to get rid of a ton of stuff.  If I have time I'll head to the two consignment stores that took my clothing and see if any items have sold.  Fingers crossed!

Ok, DH and I are back on board!!  Tonight we've gone through more stuff that DH had brought back from storage.  DH got rid of 50 drawings from his art portfolio, I got rid of some fabric scraps, 3 cardboard boxes, another 15 books, 6 formal dresses (one I wore as DHs date to his highschool grad, one I wore on our first date, one was a bridesmaids dress from our wedding...), random papers, 25 other random items DH chucked, a plastic bag holder thing to recycle, a big candle (from our wedding 12 years ago!!!) And I listed a kids travel bed on kijiji. I think that's it (for tonight!)  104 more items. Tomorrow: more decluttering, a trip to the dump and a trip to goodwill.

Had the yardsale, made $80, so probably sold 80 items in keeping with the theory that each item was a buck.

I am in total panic mode as there are 2 1/2 weeks until we move.

I shipped off 2 boxes on Saturday to our new destination.  I need to kick up my speed today.  Continuing to eat from the pantry and may do a food donation this week as well.   Reality is hitting and panic is increasing!

Today the baby fell asleep in the car on the way back from church, so when we got home I opened all the doors and just let her sleep while I excavated the trunk. I got rid of 115 items! There have been multiple times throughout the years when I needed to clear the back seat fast so just stuffed all the junk in the trunk. So this dealt with a ton of crap that should have been gone long, long ago. It was a pretty even mix of stuff that should have been thrown out in the first place (used tissues, food wrappers, etc) and stuff that may have made sense to save originally but is no longer useful (receipts and bills that are several years old, paperwork related to getting into the graduate program I've since graduated from, programs for events that took place long ago, etc). Also got rid of an ice scraper we didn't like and some old jewel cases (haven't listened to burned CDs in years). There is still some stuff in the passenger compartment that needs to go, but the trunk looks great now!

New total: 932/2012

ETA: I cleared out 3 bags full of plastic grocery bags, and talked hubby into parting with 2 bags from the Apple Store, which I am counting separately as he has been hoarding and not using those for a while. ("They're good bags!" Yeah, but what are you going to use them for? :P ) Now up to 937/2012.

Sorry to hear that you had a crappy weekend hug2.gif

DH did the dump run, I did the Goodwill run (they wouldn't take the umbrella stroller, said they can't take strollers, so it's listed for free on Kijiji).  I still need to make it to the book consignment place (box of books is in the trunk of the car) and also check on my clothing that is consigned.  Also did a big clean out in DS's room and of his toys.  I didn't get rid of many items (gotta keep all the clothes he's outgrown in case an eventual baby #2 is another boy!) but did toss a bunch of hangers that had been saved from baby outfits, a free book from public health, and a few other items that I'll just count as 3.  Best part is that his room and closet and toy area look 1000 times better!

Getting rid of my printer and 3 unopened ink cartridges. I don't print that much stuff these days and my printer has never played nicely with my computer. 45 minutes worth of fighting with the printer to get it to print a recipe is not worth it. I can write it by hand or print it on my husband's printer. So it goes. A glance at ebay tells me I can probably only sell the ink cartridges for $5-15, and that's not worth the hassle to me, so they're getting donated and the printer is getting recycled.
