Can you help me find a babydoll?

I'm going to get DD a babydoll to give to her when her brother arrives. I'm looking for something in the $20-$40 range that looks like a baby. She already has a waldorf doll and another cloth doll that she doesnt pay any attention to. However, when we go to playgroup she loves the dolls there that have plastic heads, arms, and legs and a bean-bag style body. I dont want it to be too big, because she is pretty little (30 inches, 21 lbs). Im going to get her a kids moby wrap to go with it. I dont want it to make any noises, or "do" anything. I just want a regular old babydoll, but it seems like they all have some special ability of some sort.

Any ideas?

I like these ones they're soft and their faces are plastic but not hard...

DS got Baby Sam from the Baby Stella line by Manhattan Toy. He seems to like him, though he's not plastic headed; he is just the right size for DS to tote around, and DS is about 33" and 25lbs.

I found a doll at Target like you are describing. It doesn't do anything, is small, and is relatively cheap (Circo Brand). I was having the same problem where my daughter wouldn't play with the cloth dolls and wanted a plastic, more authentic looking doll. She loves it, and I hate it!!

I highly recommend the Corolle dolls: http://www.corolle.com/

the Calin is a nice first doll, my DD loves her 12 inch doll, and my little son has an 8 inch doll he loves as well.

these are european so the plastic isn't all pvc and toxicy.

Thanks ladies! I bought her a 12 inch Corelle doll from our local toystore (Calin doll), but they didnt have any boy clothes. Id like to give her some boy clothes for it, but I am totally NOT a seamstress, so where can I buy them? Will any 12'' doll clothes work? I never really played with dolls and neither did my sisters, so I am new to all this. I really love the doll, now I just need to dress him. Its too little for premie clothes smile.gif
