Hi All,
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and wishing you all a very happy new year in 2012!
My dd is almost 17 months old and just loves to breastfeed, nursing her is a pure joy and such a sweet bond with her. I myself breastfed until I was 8.5 years old and now can understand why my mom so loved me nursing.
It's truly amazing now as a mommy myself to see both sides of nursing as a young girl, and now seeing my dd and how much she enjoys breastfeeding. I hope I have many years left with sharing this sweet bond with her and will let her decide when she no longer needs/wants to continue breastfeeding no matter her age.
So to all you mom's who feel misunderstood or alone just know that you are not - do not let others make you to feel bad about something that is so sweet and loving and letting your older children breastfeed. If you need a friend or someone to lean on I am here to be a sounding board - and/or to help answer questions from someone that understands and does not judge.
