Hehhe, nice!!!

I have reunited with my fried-egg/ham/cheddar/honey-mustard sammiches!!  I used to make these nearly every day for breakfast pre-pregnancy and then I stopped due to fear of the deli meats.  Well I just realized (preggo brain, 7 months later) that all I had to do was heat up the ham in the panini press alongside the toast - doh!

I was getting sooo tired of my daily boiled eggs & toast, what a fabulous long overdue change!

And, today I will SURELY hit up one of the many nearby gelato shops during my walk w/the dog!!

Yesterday

  • 2 eggs scrambled with vegetables (mushrooms, onion, spices)
  • grapes
  • stir fry (cabbage, garlic, bean pods, carrots, broccoli, tofu, green onion, white onion, spinach, brown rice, and sauce)
  • one glass of tea
  • granola bar with added peanut butter
  • glass of OJ with prenatals
  • 5 peaches
  • fresh cantaloupe
  • banana
  • whole wheat cornmeal waffles packed with blueberries, blackberries, apples, and a billion walnuts topped with real maple syrup and lots of freshly sliced strawberries, I ended up eating like 2 and a half of these

Today

  • 3 peaches
  • 1/2 serving of Annie's whole wheat mac and cheese with 1 cup greek yogurt (instead of milk and butter)
  • lots of watermelon
  • fresh blackberries and blueberries
  • tiny glass cranberry juice for prenatals
  • 1/2 sandwich (whole wheat, lettuce, spinach, avocado, mustard, onion, tomato, cheese, a bit of shredded chicken)
  • small apple with a bit of air popped pop corn
  • corn tortilla quesadillas (black beans, chicken, spinach, mushroom, onion, peppers, cheese) topped with guac

8 peaches in 2 days, Sol?!?  That's awesome.  You must have them in season now.  We've got some, but the strawberries are still dominating the market stands.

Today:

  • Fried egg, sourdough toast with butter, coffee with half & half, OJ with prenatal
  • Nuts and seeds trail mix
  • Dozen strawberries
  • Carne asada tacos with no cheese, but lots of guac & salsa
  • Ginger ale
  • Strawberry lemonade
  • Beef stir-fry with rice noodles and garden veggies (broccoli, snap peas, carrots, scallions, etc)
  • Small piece of dark chocolate
  • Oat cereal with almond milk

The extra liquids (not water) were because of the awful bout of BH contractions I had last night so I wanted to keep hydrated today and needed something more than my usual water.

Me too!  I'm wondering if it's the vitamin C.  I've been eating close to a pint a day.  At organic prices, it's an expensive addiction.

yeah all the u-pick fields are opening in the next week or two and cannot open soon enough- I cant wait to just go have a buffet out there eat.gif

my food intake has been all over the place- some days are way better then others.. I swing from total junk food to just wanting salads/fruit the next day- so weird.

today:

  • low fat cottage cheese with protein powder and strawberries + coffee/milk
  • a taro bubble tea (my latest addiction)
  • grilled chicken breast with a side of fruit
  • a small bowl of cereal with milk
  • cup of fat free cottage cheese
  • a piece of strawberry cake
  • dinner most likely homemade burritos (white tortilla with salsa, a little ground beef, black beans, avocado and greek yogurt)
  • dessert will likely be some greek yogurt with maple syrup since Im out of berries :)

Yeah, same here.  I also feel like I'm eating less snacks and meals than I was before (due to lack of motivation, mostly)... I'm guessing I just have less room for all that food....

Or, I'll go all healthy through the day and then binge on ton of odd stuff or sweets for a just a couple hours....

Yesterday:

  • breakfast:  ham & cheese omelet; warm lemon water w/honey
  • greek yogurt with fresh strawberries & honey
  • cottage cheese & (preserved) peaches
  • lunch:  bowl of lentil soup
  • 3 slices of whole grain french toast w/butter & maple syrup (this has been my fix of the month - gotta have almost every day!)
  • dinner:  sauteed chicken w/dijon sauce, asparagus & rigatoni (I totally didn't want to make this, ughhhh - I really just wanted to have a chocolate malt for dinner, but forced myself to get some protein and veggies.....)
  • ..... and then I caved at midnight:  big bowl of vanilla ice cream w/fresh strawberries and impromptu fudge sauce (melted choc. chips + coconut milk) ...... yesssssssss

  • smear of peanut butter with lots of raisins on two small graham natural cracker squares
  • tons of salsa, with some chips alongside veggies, cheese, guac and pinto beans
  • tiny glass of cranberry juice for prenatals
  • kale chips
  • larabar
  • miso soup
  • bran cereal and milk
  • apple
  • pint of blueberries at midnight

I've eaten 3 nectarines today.  I think I ate 4 yesterday.  They're finally in season and are so delicious that I can't stop.  My husband bought me a huge bag of them after I finished off 6 over the weekend...I think he thought the bag would last a week, but there are only 2 left whistling.gif

  • 1 slice wheat bread with jelly
  • 1/2 serving annie's mac and cheese with lots of greek yogurt (instead of butter and milk)

LOL! This is so me! I bought 8 over the weekend and there is one left.

That and watermelon. I finished a baby one all by myself, but without a doubt I could knock out the big mama watermelon!

I find I dont have that much room lately and overeating is so easy for me right now because it just takes a few bites too much and my reflux starts..

so I am eating things over the course of a few hours, like this morning, I had 3 pieces of toast for breakfast and it took me about 1.5 hours to eat them, lunch was the same way

  • 3 pieces of toast with jam and coffee
  • small salad and a cheese dumpling soup
  • small schnitzel (german fried pork)
  • 500g of strawberries with a few spoons of greek yogurt for 'whipped cream' as an after hike snack

not sure what dinner with be tonight, hopefully something with protein and veggies since we just went to the store yesterday and we have a ton of fresh stuff in the house now :)

  • 1 piece of toast with coffee
  • banana (post swim)
  • grilled chicken piece
  • small protein strawberry smoothie
  • grilled cheese sandwich
  • 1/4 of a cantaloupe melon
  • small bowl of angel food cake
  • ice cream bowl

right now I'm sort of just grazing all day, nothing sounds good and I sort of am just eating what I want because otherwise I'm not wanting to eat- majorly weird food aversions and horrible acid reflux.. mostly just wanting breads and cold stuff (like ice cream).. really discouraging when I want to eat healthy and its horrible uncomfortable or painful at times.

I'm sick today, so my eating is a little... erratic.  So far it looks like:

Breakfast: Minestrone soup, blackberries, whole grain animal crackers (I might have dipped one or two of these in frosting)

Lunch: Ben and Jerry's.  Whoops!

I really don't feel like eating anything at all, so ice cream was the only thing that sounded feasible.  I'm really having to avoid salt in general (like that minestrone) because it makes my ankles swell, but today I needed it to make my throat feel better.  I downed a ton of tea at the same time, so hopefully that dilutes the salt effect.

I'm still being terrible about veggies.  Lots of fresh fruit, eggs, and whole grains though.  But I really need to get the veggies going.  :(

I'm totally with y'all on the grazing... eating anything nowadays feels just more like a hassle - unless, it's ICE CREAM!!!  DH was horrified to discover that I've been going through a gallon a week at home.  My new daily treat has been chocolate malt shakes, made with Ovaltine powder, Breyer's vanilla, and whole organic milk - sounds healthy, right???

LilyTiger - hope you feel better!  And I'm STILL not getting my veggies either!  Although it bothers me, I've been stressing much less about this lately now that we are in the "home stretch" and I feel that Baby is healthy and will turn out just fine.  I was far more caught up about my nutrient intake during my 1st trimester (ugh that was not fun).....  Now I feel like we can "cheat" a little more - been having some sushi lately, sharing DH's glass of wine w/dinner now and then....
