motivated mama a great calorie counting website for nursing moms is babyfit.com. It takes into account what you need to take in while breastfeeding and helps you meet your goals. It even helps you remember to take your prenatal vitamin.

AFM I went on a date with DH and skipped the margarita but I did enjoy some flautas! We'll see if the scale kills me in the morning. Still no diet coke and my cravings are starting to subside a bit.

I've had my 30 minute workout every day this week ... up from just an occasional weekend hike. I also started counting calories for the first time in my life. I'm a bit hungry during the day but I manage with water or herbal tea so far. The wii says I've lost a pound and half.

Now if I can keep this up. Yay June.joy.gif

Google Couch-to-5K! It's a great way to get you there in 9 weeks.

Wow, 3 pages already! I've lost 5 lbs so far; I'm at 189, down from 194. I've been using the Noom app (Android) on my phone to keep track of calories and weigh-ins. It tracks your workout too, but alas I have no workouts to record. redface.gif

Kudos to those of you who are exercising!

Baking for the kids has become a new hobby and I eat way too much myself. I haven't started counting calories yet because I'm nursing, but I'm re-thinking that now and think I will. My plan is to count calories and limit intake. I don't plan to start any special diet. I just finished week 4 of Couch-to-5K and plan to continue with running throughout the year. If I can manage it, I'd like to run a half marathon in October. I'm planning my first 5K in March cold.gif I'd like to lose 5 pounds a month.

Wow! Rooting for you!

baked cookies with the kids last night and had to sample a few. Needless to say, I was afraid to step on the scale this morning. We'll see what it says tomorrow if I can just stay on track today.

I have about 50 (maybe 40 I feel like I am lighter but don't have a scale right now) lbs to lose to be at a healthy weight.
I have taken my first step and have been caffeine/soda free since New Years Day (usually I don't make it past the withdrawls, but I din't have any this time!) and I only drink water now, but thats making me all nervous because I am learning more and more about flouride and I can't afford a filter.
But anyway, 2 baby steps down

Have had a great week so far. Lots of work so I got 4 work outs in but that was enough. Food-wise feeling like I am making good choices and it looks like I am down 2-3 pounds already this week so that is wonderful I think I will weigh myself tomorrow to see how the first week of this month went!

Good work everyone. Lots of people making lots of healthy changes!

Hi Everyone, hope you all had a great weekend!

I continued my weightlifting regimen AKA moving furniture (we have moved into our apartment 8 months ago and only now are getting it the way we want...).

On the whole I walked 11 miles last week - less than I intended, swam once at high intensity and had lots of strength involving activity. Foodwise I did much worse than I planned so will start a Fitday journal from today irked.gif. And the result as of this morning is: I AM 4lb LIGHTER!!! - I know it is water weight in the first week but still very pleased joy.gif

I also found a walking buddy for 2 hikes a week!

Has anyone else had any updates?

I managed to lose 2 pounds last week, despite being PMSy and bloaty. I'm pretty pleased with that - I worked out a few times, but mostly just tried to "eat better" (i.e. no specific calorie/carb goal). I have been plugging in all my food into a food tracker app which I think is helping immensely (MyFitnessPal if anyone is interested, free website and app).

I hiked another 4 miles with hubby Sunday. Been doing 30 minutes on the Wii every weekday. More water. Less than 1500 calories a day. I've lost three pounds. Still feeling some hunger pains but I feel encouraged.

Can I join?

I am actually the threadmistress of the postpartum weight loss thread but it has gotten quiet over there and DD is 20 months old. I was doing good but bounced up 10 lbs in the Thanksgiving-New Year's run yikes2.gif So, I am starting at 179 lbs. I am doing heated vinyasa yoga once/week and I am on week 6 of a couch to 5K program. I too have the habit of picking at my kids' food. Worse than that I work from home and have a bad habit of heading to the kitchen when I get bored. Ugh.

of course pacificbliss I have been hanging out here for the same reasons. DD is turning 1yo this month.

DH is home from work this week and my back has been really acting up so it should be a challenging week. I will do what I can but I'm not expecting much.

Hi everyone!

I'm struggling today.  Dh is sitting here chomping on Cadbury mini eggs and I had a few but I really, really feel like I can go to town on the whole bag...please let me have some self-control.

Oooh, I'm so glad I found this thread- I was browsing in Health and Healing for a GFCF diet, and saw this.

I have roughly 20 lbs to lose. This summer, I did "Flat Belly Diet" and I did fairly well on it....I was making progress and then I got pregnant. I had a miscarriage around 9 weeks, at the end of October, and it's been difficult since then. So I'm going back on the flat belly diet now. I just ordered the book from amazon this morning (previously, I had been using books from the library), and I'm ready to go.

Luckily, I have a great public library that has a really good selection of exercise DVDs to borrow. I've been borrowing them, and trying to exercise 4-6 days per week for a half hour. I just did a really good one called "2 Week Turnaround Cardio" from Prevention. It was hard, but no complicated moves!  Looking forward to checking in with all of you periodically.

I finished week 5 of couch-to-5k this week. Exercise is good; eating, not so much. Nursing makesme really hungry and I'm just making bad choices. I know I want this so why can't I smarten up?

I am doing Couch to 5K too. Tomorrow I will finish week 6. I am finding running is making me hungry. DD is still nursing too but she's 20 months old now. I think I really need to force myself to eat even more veggies so I feel full. I have had this problem with running before where I don't lose weight. I won't quit though because i am getting more toned and feel good. I just need some more discipline with eating.
