New Year resolutions?

Thread Starter
While I do not always make a resolution for the new year, I frequently enjoy the opportunity to reflect upon my habits and focus my efforts of personal improvement on something that is not quite the way I want it to be.

I was reflecting on potential resolutions last night and while I have, as ever, a laundry list of things I could do or be *better *... It struck me that 2012 holds, for me, a lot of reasons to be grateful. I'll finish my long-desired degree, start a new job I'm very excited about in a field I find rewarding, possibly move to a new house with some land (finally!), and of course... Raise my son through the first year of his life. There will be a handful of challenges along the way (single parent two days a week while I travel for my practicum, trying to sell our current house in a weak market, etc), but overall... I'm really looking forward to this year. However, as one might guess by the intent of this thread, I have a tendency to lose the present by focusing on the future. So.

My resolution for 2012 is to ENJOY IT.

I'm also going to participate in the year of decluttering (2012 items in 2012), mostly because it will ease a potential move! =)

What, if anything, will be your resolution this year?

I don't have any resolutions for the new year.  I have plenty of goals but none of them are specific to 2012.

This is sure to be an interesting year though - going from a family of 3 to a family of 5 is going to be nuts.  My goal really is to survive and come up with more concrete goals for 2013!

Out of the blue my mom offered to watch the babies tonight for a few hours so dh and I could go out to dinner!  It will have to be a late dinner so I can put dd1 to bed first.

I think we will go for sushi.  Maybe we will stay up to watch to the fireworks on tv too.

I don't do a new years resolution per se, but I have a Day Zero list. It's an ongoing list of 101 things you want to complete in the next 1001 days. Kind of like a small version of a bucket list. I'm almost a year into this one, and it's my second time doing it.

It's got easy things like leave a cute post it on a mirror, or make alist of 25 things I love about my husband, but there's also things like be able to do the splits again, or run a half marathon, take a picture every day for a year, things like that.

JenineJessica- Love it!

I'm not a big resolution person either, but, some things I would like to do in 2012?

Improve my mommy and wifey performance (like get mad less, and keep the house cleaner lol)

Loose weight (duh!) and along with that I want to complete at least one sprint length triathlon

Go back to school

:-)
