TD -good luck with the IUI!

Carpenter Ant and Wishing and Hopin -Welcome! It's good to see more new faces. Welcome.gif

Anna -I've no idea on the charts. Good luck!

Good luck, wishin! I know I say this for everything but acupuncture can really help with anxiety.

Welcome, CarpenterAnt! I hope you have beginner's luck :)

Tiney: sounds good....I hope your insem goes well.

Anna: If there was no positive opk and ewcm I would guess CD15 as O day (nice dip and big jump in temp). However, I don't know what her charts usually look like....does she usually O 2 days after a positive opk? Does she only have 1 day of ewcm normally? She definitely could have O'd on CD 13 though. The temp dip on CD14 could just be a fall back temperature.

Cute video, Desert :)

Great news, invitn! I'm so glad your test results are fine! :)

rs: yikes, sounds like it's been a very confusing time. I hope it gets all worked out...how frustrating.

Hey everyone! Has anyone been on Progesterone suppositories before?  I'm on 90mg a day. I'm due AF on Monday, and I will go into the clinic on Sunday for a preg test. I hope I'm pregnant, but if I'm not, obviously I'll be stopping the progesterone. But I'm wondering if AF will start as usual, or if the week of progesterone will somehow delay it?  Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks!! smile.gif

Threadcrashing to let Dandylez know that I was on progesterone suppositories (mmm, fun...) and when I was still trying, my period would just start.  It got heavier after I stopped the prog, but it did just start on its own.   Hope this helps (and that your period doesn't start again for a long long time!!!!)

We insemed on all 3 days, so should have all possibilities covered.

Having said that, I'm somehow not 'feeling it' at all this month. S has had no symptoms, apart from sore boobs and a little bit of cramping the other day. She also says she doesn't feel pregnant.

Guess we'll find out in a couple of days.

thanks for that.

She usually has a more predictable build up of CM over a few days before Ovulation, then the positive OPK.

After that it gets a little vague as the signs become unpredictable. Her temps will rise and fall for the next 3 or 4 days, then stay high for the luteal phase.

It's not a big worry for us as we have relatively easy access to fresh sperm, so once we get the positive OPK we insem each night until her temperature spikes. Then we stop.

At this point I can't narrow down ovulation within those 3 days.

We hope to start in March...and DW is participating in a fertility yoga class that she says is already helping with anxiety :)

Also, Dandylez, I did progesterone suppositories when pregnant, so can't really speak to the AF factor for me.  But, I recommend a pantyliner--they oozed bubblegum pink eyesroll.gif

Hey dandy....I am on 400mg progesterone suppositories and after a bfn I stopped taking them and started af later that night.
threadcrashing, too about the progesterone. When I was on them I wouldn't get AF until I stopped--and then it would show up a day or two later. And yes, definitely use some kind of liner, because it is GROSS otherwise.

Good luck to all! I'm rooting for you! smile.gif

Welcome back, Wishin&hopin, and weclome to CarpenterAnt! smile.gif

Anna, I don't have much experience with charting, but I looked at the chart and it seems like the others made good points about CD15.

Dandylez - sorry, no advice to offer on the prog., but hopefully you don't need to worry about getting your period!!!

Desert, I watched your video -- very sweet! lol.gif

AFM - 9-10 DPO and still no symptoms in my 2WW. My feeling on POAS is I like to wait as long as I can stand waiting, because it's possible to test too early, and if I get a BFN, not only will I be disappointed, but I'll just end up testing later anyway. I could test Sunday, but I'm thinking I might want to wait as late as Tues or Wed. The test kit says it's not fully accurate till you expect your next period, and I wouldn't really expect AF until at least Tues. I'm also going to take work into consideration, because depending on what I have going on those days, I don't want to face a difficult day with a fresh BFN.

Hugs and good luck everybody!!!!

Just a quick update from me...

Unless I wake up with a fever tomorrow (I feel a sickness coming on and have lots of kids out from school!) my laparoscopy and hysteroscopy are scheduled for tomorrow at noon. I am quite nervous since I have never had anesthesia before...but sure it will be all fine.

lise --- just wanted to send you some good vibes for tomorrow and to let you know i'll be thinking about you.  fingers crossed for the whole thing, and please let us know how it goes!  *hugs*

the lovely Belgians have agreed to let me try IUIs until i'm done teaching in June!  if all goes well, it looks like DP and i will both be insem'ing sometime in early Feb.   yay!  does anyone have any experience with stims?  in particular with Follistim?

thanks again for all the good wishes...they worked! joy.gif

Lisedea: thinking of you in your upcoming surgery and sending you good wishes. I know all will go well. I believe it in my heart.

wow- lots of good things going on with everyone today, huh?!  thumb.gif

Lisedea- thinking of you for tomorrow.  i hope all goes well and you have a quick and easy recovery!

nosreves- awesome news! Those Belgians really do sound scrumptious!  Yay for double-insems for you guys in just a few weeks! joy.gif

Amazing how quickly things turn from dark to light in this little group here.  It really blows me away how the highs and the lows can co-exist here, cheek-by-jowl.

Cananny- wow, that sound like the best insem ever! Happy TWWing! biggrinbounce.gif

RS11: Sounds like it has been a screwy couple of days. Your confusion really drives home the issue of the difficulty of pinpointing ovulation and timing insems. Sorry it's been so rough. Good luck at your appt tomorrow.

Outdoorsy: Oh the torture of the indecisiveness involved in trying to figure whether or not to POAS. I feel for you. Regardless, I'm glad to hear that you didn't have any disruptive sx during the tww.

Wishin:Welcome.gifHello glad to meet you. I wish this ttc time around will be different and more empowering for DW. Good luck with your thurs. appt.

CarpenterAnt:Welcome.gifHello there. Congrats on your first insem and I wish you beginner's luck. FYI: On the first page of Jan posts: I listed you in the "Waiting to know" category.

Megincl: Thanks for sharing your experience. Outside of participating in IVF and doing hormone testing, I wonder if there is any other way to test for egg quality....hmm.

Tiney:  Hello fellow Ohioian. Good luck at your IUI on Wed. I look forward to moving you to the TWW list.

Anna: I don't know if people are still casting votes but if so..similar to Desert and Carmen: I was going to say that it appears that she O'd on Day 15 bc the jump in temp the next day.

Desert:  (sorry can't take the font off bold suddenly...darn computers..why is my techy wife sleeping when I need her help..argh.) Anyway, the video was so cute and you guys appear so calm and collected..omg I would've been so anxious..and giddy. Your video got me thinking about how I want to tell our parents when DW and I get pregnant...it's a good visualization.

Krista: good luck and keep us informed as to what you discover/learn about from talking to different specialists.

Dandylez: My experience with progesterone has been that despite the tons of tww symptoms, it did lengthen my luteal phase by a few days. I would still start AF while on it. It's strange though: the next month I did get my LH surge a few days earlier than expected. RE did think that it was related to the prometrium but who knows.

Lise: Hey girl. I wish you lots of supportive and healing vibes for your surgery tomorrow. I got the hysteroscopy done last March and I had a laproscopy when I was 19, both procedures were fairly uncomplicated for me. Anesthesia is a funky thing...just allow yourself to take it really easy tomorrow...you might be really tired and out of it..here's to lots of napping in your jammieswinky.gif

(yeah reg font is back)

Nos: So excited to hear that all is well for you and both of you get to insem next month.

Cananny: It sounds like it was a perfect conditions for an insem..Hope this tww flys by quickly for you.

AFM:  I'm still so happy about my tests results yday. Thank you to all for your supportive thoughts about it. So now the focus turns to preparing for Insem next week. It will be the first time DW and I are using fresh donor sperm from a donor out of state- we are getting it shipped. I'm a little nervous bc KD is apparently a really busy guy and he hasn't responded to our check in email yday. (I know one day is not alot of time for reply...I'm just anxious). He was supposed to get new STD results 1 1/2 weeks ago at this point and he hasn't sent us a copy of it...so a wee bit nervous...but I will practice breathing...and focus on just being here (i'm hearing Krista's words in my head right now smile.gif)

Nosreves -- that's great news! I'm really happy for you and your wife. Happy insemming across the border. May the wind be at your back and your cycle timing be a breeze!

Cananny - Congrats on the great insem. That's great that everything went so well. Come on, BFP!

lise -- I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I'm sure it will go well, and you will be one step closer to good things.thumbsup.gif

Hey everyone!

Desert, I just teared up watching your video!  Thank you so much for posting it.  It was so sweet!  I agree, "Merry f-in Christmas" was the best line of all!  And, just like invitin, it made me think about how we will tell our families when our time comes.  I agree, it's a great visualization!  Every time I start to obsess over possible "symptoms," I try to focus on something else that is positive and calming: my sweet 2 year old friend who I babysit for every week, paintings I am working on, travel memories.  I'm going to add this visualization to the list!

RS11- That sounds tough.  I think it is *so* hard to figure out exactly when to inseminate, especially when there are conflicting pieces of information, people giving different types of advice, and then of course our own gut feelings.  Here's to riding the wave!

Wishin- Nice to meet you!  I'm wishing you and your partner much ease with this round of TTC.  Glad to hear about the fertility yoga; sounds like a great idea!  Good luck!

Anna- I don't know when she ovulated, but my vote is to wait to POAS til it's been 14 days from cd13.  I've read so many tough roller coaster experiences from folks testing too early. Of course, that is my personal preference, and I respect your right to decide!  I certainly understand why she would want to test sooner; the waiting can be sincerely torturous!!!

Lise- Wishing you much comfort and gentleness with your procedure tomorrow.  Will be thinking of you and sending love!

Cananny- Congratulations on the awesome IUI!  Sending you much patience and joy as you begin your TWW.

AFM... We've waiting to test til Thursday (14dpo), so only one more loooooong day to go.  I've noticed (but tried not to pay TOO much attention to) a bit of cramping the other day, powerful sleepiness, breast tenderness and some CM (normally I don't see any between ovulation and AF).  Of course, any of these "symptoms" could be random unrelated things so I've been challenging myself to just breathe right on through it and not make too much meaning out of them.  Sigh... I'm feeling super hopeful, though!  Everything was good with our IUI - cervix wide open, great sample, lots of CM - and my ND said she's been having great luck on the 2nd try lately!  I'm crossing my fingers!  Especially since next month our fabulous queer ND who's been doing our IUIs will be out of town, so if we need to try again we'll have to work with her backup person (who is also very good, so it would definitely not be the end of the world, just mildly disappointing cuz we like our person SO much).

Thank you for listening to my ramble, and much power and hope to all of you in your journeys.

Anna and Dandylez, do you have test plans? AFM, I'm leaning toward Tuesday.

OK, I am officially obsessing and checking this board way too often.shamrocksmile.gif
