Is anyone else having trouble with the Groups home page where you can see all the threads? When I go to the home page, it tells me that there are no threads. The rest of the page is there, including the introduction, members, etc, but all the threads are missing. I was able to access this thread by going into my subscriptions, but that's annoying!
Today is my first day on my own with all three kids. My DH left this morning at 4am and won't be home until late Friday night. Basically I'm on my own for three full days! I did manage to milk my goat this morning with the baby in a carrier, so at least I know I can still handle my chores. Another one of our goats is due to have babies any day now, which is likely to happen while my DH is away. Luckily, my best friend said that she'd come over and help me if the goat goes into labor. So far she's not showing any signs, so it'll still be at least 24 hours. We don't know her exact due-date (I was told Jan. 1st) because she was bred and then changed owners twice since then. I have confirmed her pregnancy and can feel a baby moving in her belly, so it will be soon. This is the goat that was paralyzed and blind last week from goat polio, so we're glad that her baby(ies) made it.
Little Coralie seems to be getting a cold. Her normal congestion has turned into runny snot and my 8yo woke up today super congested. Hopefully it doesn't turn into anymore more than a runny nose...
Have you had goats that kidded before? We have several sets of goat births, and we actually found that the does will birth easier with no assistance, in their own pen. We always kept an eye on them, though. So try not to worry if you cant be present the whole time, chances are she will be fine and you will have a happy doe and kid(s) after.
