Gorgeous, Gorgeous blanket, fnord! I wonder if I would ever finish that if I started it!?!

Fnord - I *love* it! You're really talented. :)
Subscribed...on board again to hopefully make it to the end this year...
My first project is a demo for a new song. I know it is just a demo but I'm giving myself a point for it because it is a miracle that I let it get to this point (I'm a ridiculous perfectionist when it comes to my music so things don't get finished a lot of the time). You can go here to listen.
I have a few other more crafty projects to work on as well as a painting I started during the holidays...someone send me a stern message if there are no updates from me in the next week!
haha My kids had a different plan that day.. They decided they couldn't LIVE without their mom's undivided attention. So instead I sang Old McDonald, played with Thomas the Train and read the same Dr. Seuss book 50 times (I counted, it was actually 48 but hey Im giving myself 2 for not losing my temper while reading it).. Oh well, Im sure that Ill have time later to do it..
Today I hemmed a pair of jeans for my SIL and sewed 2 headrest pillow covers for her massage table. Next time I see her Im telling her she owes me a free massage for the backache I got working on those for her :)..
Tonight I really need to cast on the vest for my son's picture outfit.. We put off the pictures until the 27th since I didn't want to rush to finish the outfits.
okimom - the trade for a massage sounds like an awesome deal!
Thanks fnord.
maybe I should learn to crochet- because Fnord- that is so lovely!
I have been cracking... I sewed up 3 of my nightgowns- and they are just exactly what I wanted- will post a pic later. I sewed my grandpas mittens, and right now I am working on sewing some slippers for my SILs bday- then hopefully I will get slippers made for myself and the kids. I also want to destash most of my wool sweater collection into a rag quilt- I think that would bust through them pretty fast and be super practical too- and it would clean out a tote in my sewing room- which desperately needs cleaned in the next week before I hostess a sewing party.
so currently I am up 4 projects- so 10/52 I think?
eta- I got my SIls slippers done as well as a pair for me. I used the tutorial from prudent baby. Mine were the first experiment and hers turned out much better. I am going to make myself another pair I think... Not like you can have too many right? Also- they had the bright idea of putting insoles in- which I picked up for $1 at dollar general- they make them so much nicer!
12/52.
Shes leaving tonight for the next 3 weeks and we move in 2 weeks so unfortunately its not happening
Guess next time we are here for a visit I can collect
So I spent today at the doctors, fun stuff that was. I have yet another UTI that I have to take meds for soooo my daughter (and probably son) will get IOUs for their birthdays. Im really glad we pushed the pictures back because they were suppose to be for this morning and I can barely walk Im in so much pain. Next couple of days Im taking it easy, taking long naps and taking my meds like a good girl.
Okimom- feel better soon
Fnord- WOW! That's gorgeous! And double wow that it's bedsized; I wonder how many hours that took to make!
and WTG Iowaorganic, and everyone...we should take a count at the end of the year for how many projects were done on this thread! WTG on the productivity, mamas!
Not me, though; I still have only 2 pts. I did not work on that UFO doll as I said I would this weekend, and I have finished nothing since then. Instead I made another UFO, a skirt that I am not loving and will put aside, and I started a new quilt. It was on my list, though, to do something with the 10 colors of corduroy I bought for myself. It's weird how quilts happen, because I looked through all of my large stash of quilting mags to decide what to do with this cord, but then I just started cutting and this quilt was sortof just born and evolved, rather than planned...it was like what the cords wanted to do, iykwim. I'm doing 36 blocks for the center panel and I have about got 3 rows of 6 (half the blocks) done, nearly. I definitely won't be done with this top today, as I want to also do a pieced border. But dh is home and i'm working on it all day, as I did yesterday. I am hoping to just work on this quilt straight through until it is done, maybe by next week.
I can't seem to stick to one project at a time. So wtg Ms.Shell!
I am feeling cruddy today after being up all night so I am not feeling too productive today- plus we had a calf die this morning- so I am just kinda bummed.
I did get inspiration for a couple of leather handbags- so if I get rolling on my SILs soon that would be awesome. I also feel the need to finish a quilt I started a couple of years ago for my bed. The thing holding me up is I think I want to appliqué a bunch of blocks to mix in with my log cabin squares and that just seems extremely tedious ya know (lest you think I would pick up a needle and thread- this would be machine appliquéd). And I have so much extra fabric from my nighties that I adore I am trying to decide my best course of action there- maybe I will make one of those mama bib/hooter hider things- although I do think they are kinda pointless. And maybe a rag blanket.... Or another carseat canopy... And I would like a casserole cover finally for me rather than making one for everyone else. I have lists that just won't end I guess. And the darn knitting- anyone want to check out my help thread in yarn crafts and tell me what you think?
I did two! I'm so stoked! I've been working on this huge castle thing made out of felt for forever. I finished the sewing I needed to do to make it hang-able, and I finished the right-hand column. Next up - roof on the right column, and the "grass" on the bottom of the right-hand side.
2/52!
And fnord, that blanket is amazing! That's crocheted? I can crochet a little but I've never done anything like that! It's very inspiring.
fnord- The blanket is beautiful!
I have been knitting more and more on my blanket this week, I am thinking today I will have a massive knitting day and just let the kids play while I watch BBC shows on netflix and knit lol.
I crossed off another project today. Number 2 on my list, the embellished singlets for my LO. So I'm 2/26 at the moment. Might need to speed up a bit at this rate. I've been doing a few rows of the baby blanket most evenings but that's about all. I've been going "off list" and doing other things instead
katelove- I do way to much off list stuff :) Its a curse I tell you
Yesterday I made the two shrugs for the girls picture dresses and two curly cube ribbons for their hair.. Next time I make curly ribbons Im going to use more yarn, they are really cute but they would be better longer.
Today I need to: work on the picture dresses, work on T's vest (have to figure out whether to go up a size or down a size since I can't find the right size needles) and figure out how Im going to make car organizers for the move. First I need to wake up,
(note here I don't drink coffee, but they don't have a smiley with a hot cocoa cup)
Fnord, the blanket is so pretty! great job.
Ok, I am working on a coffee cozy now (sewing), this one's for me. I'll make another one for a valentine's day swap.
Whew - got another one done. I made a change table cover out of 2 old baby towels (we never use them). Super easy but has been on my list forever.
2 of 52
I have been slacking. That is all.
Well, last night I had a little sewing party in my craft room and I got quite a bit done. I finished 2 more vinyl toy bags for the boys. And I made a scrunchy scarf out of jersey and some elastic thread. I wore it tonight at a modern sewing meeting tonight and it was a big hit.
I think my current total is 6/52 finished!
13/52
I made a carseat canopy for a friend of a friend- it turned out super cute so I am kinda thinking about making another one... The real news is that I started working on my taxes... that is a big thing when you have 2 individuals and a business to do.... And I made it to the final border of my shawl :) We watched turner and hooch last night and I got 1.5 rows done.... So it is pretty slow going at this point since the rows are like a million stitches long- but we made today a snow day so I am snuggled on the couch knitting away.
