10-15 Minute Cleaning Sessions (New Thread) - Page 67

hello,

it's been sunny and cold here (very windy since yesterday so the clouds vanished)

today, i finally got round doing some deep cleaning in the kitchen .... the stuff i hadn't got round to last Sunday ....

one load of laundry only but folded and put away 3 loads from yesterday

also spent 45 minutes sorting out stuff in the early afternoon

hoping to spend 45 minutes doing a crocheted hat for a newborn whilst watching a little bit of TV

made a batch of banana mini muffins but was busy checking DS's unfinished homework so they burnt a bit

= won't be able to send them to school (on going fund-raiser in the teachers's common room, to fund transport for DS's class ...)

so we ate them

... have just made another batch but one came out all broken so i "had to" eat it !!!

(am going to wrap them up for school before going to bed ... otherwise they might "disapear" at breakfast time ....)

I want to crochet, but my arm and hand are bothering me, so I'm going to rest them today. I think I've been overdoing it.

- shined the sink, sanitized toilet, washed one load &up to dry outside & folded yesterday's

- swept the kitchen and mopped the kitchen floor and in the toilet (not planned but needed by the look of it...)

- cooked some rice to go with the curried lentils i made yesterday (today being a "no-meat day" for me)

and had an early lunch (so as not to feel bloated during the class)

- sent a few e-mails

- prepared my backpack and tried to review the choregraphy for my dance class .... but my mind keeps on wandering and i leave the video to suddently do this and that  (wish i could apply myeslf more ... definitely have ADD....)

Hello everybody,

no playdate this morning, most people are sick locally (stuffy noses, caughs ...)

- managed to drop by to the market for 10 minutes ( apples, cabbage, spinash leaves)

- washed up and shined the sink

- two loads of laundry up and drying, one down folded and put away

- culled 17 items from DD2's wardrobe (some for the bin, some for giving away)

- cleaned a little cupboard the neighbors left over last week to replace something i had got curb hunting - it sits on the balcony with plants on top and has supplies for planting inside & called the special number to make a appointment, so that i know which evening to put it out for it to be pick up in the bulky trash-recyling next week ...

- am in the process of sorting out DD1's school stuff from last year .... (great, that will add up to my number in the 2013 in 2013 thread !!!)

- sent a few e-mails

- looked up online for recipes for cooking millet, i think i'l just grind some in my little coffee grinder and cook it in water as a kind of porridge ... apparently it goes well with cumin .....

hoping to

- get round to some SIMPLE hand sewing (actually undoing side seams in a nightdress and securing the ends) that i've been meaning to do since ... before Christmas .....

- grate some chocolate into chips to make mini muffins (have been obssessed with those for the last few weeks, now that i've worked out that this very convenient silicone mould for 12 is the right size for when i mix 100 g of sugar, 1 egg, 100 g of flour, a little oil, ... and whatever flavoring .... we like one mashed banana but also 2 grated apples in there ....have been making a few batches a week, to give away too ....)

- still haven't made my lunchtime salad ... should get going now ...instead of procrastinating at the computer LOL !

Hey Isa. Mini muffins sound great. yummy.gif DD was just given more nice gifts and hand me downs and now we have so many things to go through. I appreciate the things, but oh my, we are overflowing.
So far today I:
-made breakfast and great coffee
-got DD on the school bus
-rinsed the dishes
-put out the trash

I hope to:
-crochetsmilie.gif. My blanket is coming along beautifully. love.gif
-go to an appointment

any chance to see a photo of the blanket ?

- managed to finish the sewing, about time !!!

- the grated chocolate muffins vanished VERY quickly but were a little over done (i had gone to do a "little job" washing something by hand in the bath INSTEAD of staying next to the oven ... should have known better) and not my favorite actually

( i may try grated carrots with lots of spices for tomorrow ... there's a discussion group i'm going to attend in the afternoon ....)

- haven't yet got round to cooking the millet but got a few ideas so hopefully tomorrow ...

am now hoping to not have insomnia ...

tomorrow am going to try and declutter for 3 hours in the morning ...

hello everyone ....

today i had planned to do 3 hours solid of "sorting out stuff in plastic bags"

so "of course" i started with

- 2 loads of laundry,

- washing up shining the sink,

- desinfecting the toilet,

- baking carrot mini muffins,

- answering e-mails ...

at least, that is done & i feel good about it being done

... pity that sorting out stuff is so anxiety provoking in me ...

am going to practice one dance exercise for 10 minutes now (everybody seemed to "get it" except me so i videoed it to replay it bilions of times until it sinks in my brain .......)

Hi Isa, the sorting will happen little by little...I will definitely post a pic of the blanket once it's done. I've gotta figure out how to upload pics on here. I'm feeling under the weather and kinda blah, so I'm staying home to rest today.

So far I:
-made breakfast and coffee
-got DD on the school bus
-rinsed the dishes and cleaned the counters
-made a big pot of chicken/vegetable soup eat.gif and some chocolate chip cookies
-made the beds
-put out the trash
-went to an appointment
-crochetsmilie.gif

I plan to:
-rest

Back again. Having a rough time keeping up at home & work, feeling very overwhelmed, trying to figure out why.

I found out yesterday my thyroid is a little out of whack again (I'm hypothyroid but my levels were actually HIGH so my endo had to adjust my meds down) so I think that's part of it. At almost a year old my DD is a lot more mobile and makes a lot more messes, spends a lot of time on the floor, so it feels like the house is always messy. And a messy house makes me super miserable and distracted and inefficient. And I feel more pressure to keep the floor cleaner. She also hates diaper changes and getting dressed so what used to take a few minutes now takes up to half an hour since I have to make it like a game and/or gently wrestle her to keep her from rolling away with poop all over her butt and/or calm both of us down when she gets upset. She is teething and wakes up at night more frequently. We also have 2 dogs. We rent and recently are spending more time trying to keep the yard nicer since they tore it up before. My daughter is in a throwing/dropping food phase and we have an ant problem so it feels like I'm constantly, constantly, constantly cleaning the dining room floor. I used to have a cleaning lady come every other week but we really couldn't afford it so I stopped. We don't have a dishwasher here and it's taking time to adjust to that since we got used to having one before we moved. I'm also still pumping every morning for when I'm at work. And still BFing of course. We are super tight on $$ right now so I spend a lot of time cooking, trying to grocery shop frugally, packing lunches, etc. I have ADHD and can't take the supplements that helped me before b/c I'm BFing. I constantly forget things. Today I locked my keys in the car. I only work part time and feel like this shouldn't all be so hard! Especially since my husband has been a lot more supportive lately too.

That was a huge whiny vent and probably doesn't belong here. But it makes me feel slightly better.

Today I

Cleaned tub & tile during shower

Let out/watered/fed dogs

Took out trash

Watered plants

Made coffee/breakfast

Nursing & feeding

Made bed

Made and packed lunches

Picked up living room

Washed dishes

Cleaned counters & table

Mopped kitchen floor and under table (to clean up dropped food & ward off ants)

Got DD dressed, 2 diaper changes, some play time

Dropped DD at sitter

WOH but super inefficiently

Tonight I will

Make dinner

Assorted baby care

Meeting

Put clothes out for tomorrow

I got a crazy intense migraine after therapy, so I totally didn't get as much done as I intended to. I took a nap with DD. I couldn't stay up.

After naptime, we got up, tidied a little bit, and made dinner. Tomorrow I need to be more productive.
