We are on a cross country roadtrip to visit Grandma (CA to upstate NY) and got caught in the big storm. This morning my cleaning consisted of prying open the car door and getting rid of trash and windexing windows. Then I fished around in the backseat to find the source of a weird smell which turned out to be an old chunk of muffin smile.gif

am decluttering DH's stuff today ... much easier than sorting out mine LOL !!!

we need space for DD1's new shoes

am baking a lot these days= apple pie for lunch today

+ right now am trying NOT to let burn a batch of 12 banana mini-muffins

that will be for afternoon snack

it's unseasonnaly cold over here, and has been for a little while now, we eat more butter (on bread) and more pasty stuff or muffins than usual ...

I still need to (it's early yet):

Get safety straps on the bookshelf in DD's playroom

Do breakfast dishes

Fold laundry and do some more loads

Go get my kid's table and chairs from my grandmother's house for DD's playroom

Paint said table and chairs

Go visit DD's grandma and great-grandma

Go grocery shopping for the week (we're officially totally out of food)

At some point I need to:

hello again ...

- during my errands i saw some fabric on sale which i couldn't resist so within the next 2 months i'm hoping to make a dress for DD1 (flowery skirt, solid color on top)

- am still stuck at the sorting out of my stuff (only "moved" about half a bag ....)

- and also trying to switch my household folder =>i now have a separate folder for school, another one for "home" & one for a few other sub categories (sport/health/transportation/ "buying" ....) but i still have quite a few sheets of paper that i know i want to keep, am just quite indecisive about how to sort them out ...

- have just made a list for what i need to do in the next two hours ....

... teachers on strike tomorrow, don't thing i'll put DD2 to the far away school where they'll play games under the surveillance of council hired temporary staff ... i would if it was nearer where we live but i cannot face switching buses ... now hoping she'll be behaving during my lunchtime class .... i HAVE baught some new large felt tip pens last Saturday (and just found out when sorting out stuff a "new to us" colouring book that she's never seen.....)

+ i always find it "hard" when i get deprived of "alone time" (and DS is starting school 2 hours than normal tomorrow ....)

Hi, all! Today I:

Made breakfast for DD and I

Installed her new carseat (a Radian RXT)

Took DD to her first dentist appointment!

Ran to the store to pick up some V-Day craft suppliesjoy.gif

DD fell asleep in the car on the way home so she's napping now. I'm taking a break while she rests and when she gets up I'll:

Make lunch-probably leftover peas and pesto pasta from yesterday. yummy.gif

CLEAN!! The house isn't in bad shape, but we have an interview with some daycare kids, so I want to make sure it is spotless.

Start dinner-it needs like four hours to simmer so i've got to get that going.

Do interview-cross my fingers! It's a girl DD's age and her newborn sister. I think that sounds pretty perfect for us. goodvibes.gif

Get DD ready for bed and asleep and then....

Watch The Walking Dead!! It's the only TV show I watch other than Doctor Who, and it's such a guilty pleasure of mine. Sheepish.gif

what kind of movie are you going to watch ?

good morning everyone ... i "hate" teachers' strikes ... i don't get enough SILENCE in my day when it happens .....

today, i managed

- 3 loads of laundry (up drying on racks on the balcony)

- washing up, shined the sink, desinfected the toilet, minimalist lunch for DD2 and I

- pack coloring supplies as well as my dance clothes, walk to dance class and back (it's just that it feels like DD2 speaks all the time that makes me feel drained)

- a bit of food shopping on the way back (strawberries on special offer, but am not sure it will be a good idea, taste wise, have got a can of whipped cream to go with it so DS and DD2 will be happy anyway !!!)

- too much time on the computer already ....

- strugling to repair the sleeve of my favorite nightdress

hoping to

- get a nap before a family activity tonight !

My interview went really well! orngbiggrin.gif I really liked the kids, and the girl my DD's age seems to like us a lot. I should hear from them within the week, and I think it would be a good fit. I hope they call! goodvibes.gif

Today I:

Got DD's new booster seat and installed it on her kitchen chair.

Made oatmeal for DD and I.

Ate breakfast and cleaned up.

Had a bath.

Looked up daycare activities/menus while DD napped.

Tidied up a bit.

Made tamalito (sweet corn pudding thing)

Started garlicky wild rice chicken soup for dinner.

Still planning to:

Tidy some more

Clean kitchen

One load of laundry

Look into CPR recertification

Call mother

hi everyone ....

well, i didn't get to have a nap on Tuesday late afternoon but it worked out in the end + i eventually managed to repair the sleeve of my favorite nightdress, taking the slow route .... but it worked, so i'm pleased about that ...

yesterday Wednesday was minimal cleaning day + 1 load of laundry + a lot of walking taking the children to their activity + some extra walking "just for me" at the end of the day (so that i can post a better loss than "just 0.2 lb this week" in my weight loss challenge !!!!)

today, no cleaning happened yet, but i

- managed to go swimming (it's been about 2 weeks since i got the chance ....)

i plan to

- eat a healthy lunch

- start a load of laundry, daily cleaning, a little food shopping

- color my hair

- learn the rules of the crazy eight card game

- not to stay too long at the computer !!!!

Happy Valentine's Day. ISA, we went to the movies to see Silver Linings. Really a wonderful movie about overcoming mental illness.
I've been woh as a subsitute orchestra teacher. love.gif Really nice. But I took the job and it's 3 days in a row. Not going to do that again. I'd rather have my days spaced out during the week.

I:
-made coffee and breakfast
-put out the trash
-got DD off to school
-woh
-went to the grocery store and picked up Valentines and dinner and dessert

I hope to:
-relax crochetsmilie.gif

Happy Valentine's Day to you Bejeweled !

- have just returned from shopping

- had my healthy lunch (& clever disposal of various left overs in the fridge !)

- have just printed some "easy to understand" (i can be really "thick" about card games rules !!!!) rules for Crazy eight

(at least, a game my 5 year old can play ! .... am trying to get us used to playing different games WITHOUT fighting or throwing a fit when loosing ....)

- need to leave the computer soon.... this is such a magnet for me, what would i do without it ??????

LOL, in french the title is ..... "Happiness therapy !"    i don't see any french words in that title ....

I got the job I got the job I got the JOOOBBBBBBBB!!!!!!! joy.gifthumb.gifbiggrinbounce.gifthumbsup.gif

They called me and said they loved me and wanted me to watch their two kids :) The hours are absolutely perfect and I'm really excited.

Valentine's day was also lots of fun. DD and I made a HUGE mess making chocolate covered strawberries, and I didn't bother cleaning up the kitchen because of SNUGGLING.

I'll get to that today.

Today I haven't done much so far. I got DD up and changed, and we're going to have breakfast soon.

I plan to:

Snuggle, tidy up a bit, and do absolutely nothing I don't feel like doing. I'm going to enjoy my last weekend as an official SAHM before becoming a WAHM! namaste.gif

congratulations, am happy for you that it works well !

on Valentine's day i ended up making rice crispies treats, had no idea until the day before that it was THAT easy

(they don't sell them over here so we were tracking some in the stores during our last visit in the UK for DS ....)

it's just a pity that it's so unhealthy (seeing all that sugar being melted ....)

am supposed to go to my rollerblading class in about 8 minutes

but am still at the computer, un-dressed, un-washed

at least, i've had breakfast ....
