10-15 Minute Cleaning Sessions (New Thread) - Page 69

so... i ended up wanting to watch Silver linings ....and managed to today !

very nice movie indeed

so only did 4 water points/2 meals/ 1 load of laundry/one troley load of stuff delivered (so that i don't have to go shopping with the kids during the holidays, only for a few items at a time...), no decluttering , no sewing (have some waiting ....)

made pumpkin soup though (and followed my new eating plan too ....)

in Silver linings there was the "SWAY" song (the competitors just before them).... discovered that song in "the wedding date"=  one of my favorite movies ... had no ideas it was so old and well known

(wrote down some of the lyrics when i replayed the wedding date on Saturday evening, and with the internet, managed to find the song, the words as well as the various versions on You Tube .... even one with Rita Hayworth ....)

have not yet worked out how to get a version to put on my MP3.....( being school holidays .... my time "for me" is very limited) but am going to because it's one of the songs that are sure to put me in a good mood ....

today i

- started a load, sanitised my 4 water points, made french bread for breakfast for the children, set them to make some birthday cards we'll need later in the week , made some mini banana muffins for afternoon snack (we are going ice skating with the community center, only 18 euros for the 4 of us including transportation in a coach from very near us ......)

- need to ; put up the load to dry, go out and pick up medicines at the pharmacist, drop homework for DS's classmate, buy bread from the baker, prepare thick gloves + water bottles + pack the snacks for this afternoon, cook and serve an healthy lunch ....

the kids are starting to fight so my time at the computer is up ......

this IS a sore point during the school holidays ....

Hi, everyone!

This is a 9-5 day of daycare for me, so I'm taking a break to jot down what we've done today (it's naptime-all three went at once! thumb.gif)

So far I:

Made cinnamon apple steel cut oatmeal for DD and DCG and I yummy.gif

Cleaned up dishes from breakfast (and dinner!)

Did three loads of laundry and put away including diapers-there's still one left to fold and put away

Got my old stretchy WAHM wrap out for the 10 week old daycare baby joy.gif brought back serious memories! She really wants my milk, I think, so giving her mama's milk in a bottle has been difficult.

Made a snack for the big girls-banana slices and these oat energy ball things with coconut and sunflower butter.

NAPTIME! If I get up, one or both of the big girls wakes up (ha, big girls-they're 20 months old) so I've just been staying in bed with them and reading. I'm planning to read some more of "The Hand That First Held Mine," which is about motherhood and really really good so far.

After nap I plan to:

Tidy the playroom

Fold last load of laundry

Prep dinner-spinach stuffed shells and maybe french bread if I can get it done in time goodvibes.gif

Go to library after dinner and check out "Taking Charge of Your Fertility." Not many people know this, but I've started seeing someone new (he hasn't met DD but he does know about my situation. I met him in a grief support group) and I really hate the idea of hormonal birth control. We're obviously not that far into our relationship yet, but who knows? I'd like to start charting just for myself anyway. I'm going to order a basal thermometer (and a nosefrida! haha) and see what happens.

Anyway, I'd like to get reading so I'll pop in later.

Hey, mind if I crash the thread?  I've been keeping my own 'cleaning sessions' in a folder on my computer (been doing this for years- it helps me see value in myself and my day when I otherwise would feel like I did nothing productive)  -  Seems less weird to post them here..., with like-minded people! wink1.gif

I like reading everyone's lists and accomplishments!  Very inspiring!  It's the small things, for sure...

So far, today I have:

Done one load of dishes

Made my boys a nice big breakfast (although they are still complaining to be hungry... hmm..)

Later, I will:

Clean the kitchen and finish the dishes

Tidy up the house

Do a couple loads of laundry

Make a chocolate cake for our vegan potluck/ game night tonight

Hi IsaFrench and bejeweled!

Sure, I can specify 'tidy', although I often don't know what I mean myself when I say that!  lol.   But I'll try!

Today I conquered the overloaded laundry basket of clean, folded clothes that has been sitting on my boys' dresser for a month!  (YEAH!)  thumb.gif

Did a load of dishes

picked up some in the boys' bedroom.. looks much better!

Threw my boys' wet muddy clothes in the wash-  Much better I have found to do that right away vs. adding to the laundry pile

Made lunch and gave boys a bath

I think I'll take it easy the rest of the day... Need some downtime and I accomplished a lot of cleaning this week!  Happy weekend everyone!

hi everyone !

routine is hard to follow during school holidays ...

- sort of shined the sink but not properly (+ didn't get round to the Monday scrubbing of the drying rack)

- did the other 3 water points + two loads of laundry

and that's about it (we were invited to a birthday party at which i took my knitting) + ran two errands in town afterwards,

on foot, so as to exercise a little ....

+ tonight we had soft boiled eggs .... but the white was undercooked sadly => i got carried away last week and scrubbed the small bits at the top of the gas cooker & now the larger ring has a very short flame compared to beforhand and doesn't get the water in the pan to boil properly (i had read somewhere that small bubbles mean the same temperatures as larger bubble, ....but obviously not considering i left the eggs even longer than i do usually ...)

tonight am hoping to get started on a hat i'm  making for a friend ...

Monday... Grrr...

Today I :

Took a load of sweaters to a friend's house and felted them in her washing machine

Cleaned the litter box

Swept and mopped the laundry room

Swept and mopped the kitchen

Did a load of dishes

Sent off an important email  (I HATE emailing, so I count this as a victory!)

Still need/want to:

Sweep the living room and dining room

Vacuum (I have an ill friend of ours crashed on our couch right now though, so that might have to wait another day!)

nearly finished the knitted hat = too much late night TV watching (my "escape" of choice during school holidays)

need to

- get washed and dressed (the bath has been runfor1.5hours by now ....) and go out to the market and the post office

- finish with the computer

- decide if i'm going to take the children to a local circus this afternoon or not ....

Well, today is my 'monday', where I start my work week :(.  Always I try to scramble to get the house in order before I disappear for 5 days... Looking around I'm kinda annoyed because the house still looks trashed even though I have spent the entire day cleaning...

Small victories:

Got kids up, dressed, fed and off to school

Did 4 loads of dishes

Sanitized and very, very, very carefully washed the china I scored at Goodwill last night

Cleaned and Re-organized some shelves in the kitchen to make room for my new china

Went through all our cookbooks and picked out an armload to donate to Goodwill

Swept the kitchen floor

Took old drawings, papers, etc off the fridge!  Now it looks so bare... That won't last long though

Did 3 loads of laundry

Still need to:

Put away some laundry

Try to nap before work!
