So, I did:
-go and get the cutest little gardenia plant
-get another latte. Maybe not a good idea.......
-go to 2 appointments
-pick up lunch
-soak the dishes and clean the counters
-put out the trash
I hope to:
-rest and relax
-figure out dinner
Dang, must be a really good summer camp if the line is that long!
Proud of my accomplishments today:
Cleaned, decluttered, and organized the laundry room. It looks SO. MUCH. BETTER. And I don't have things falling on top of my head when I reach for something
Cleaned the boys room: Vacuumed, threw out a bag of garbage (mostly paper scraps), washed ALL of their bedding, cleaned out the closet, put clothes away, made beds.
Cleaned my bedroom: Re-organized dresser, put clothes away, took out a bag of garbage, vacuumed, decluttered, put things in storage in the attic
Vacuumed the staircase
Washed 6 loads of laundry
Decluttered the kitchen windowsill and the top of the microwave
Made dinner.... AND now I'm done for the day
Take it easy bejeweled, and drink lots and lots of tea!
So my little one peed his bed last night- His freshly laundered blankets and bedding all... well, peed on. Great. He hasn't had a bed-wetting accident in MONTHS and he does it on the day I washed everything and made his bed all nice. Now I remember why I stopped bothering making his bed. Wonderful. On top of that, the cat puked twice. It's been a lovely day lol.
Today I :
Re-washed all my little one's bedding (3 loads)
Washed 1 load of clothes
Picked up their room (just a quick cleaning after yesterday's thorough cleaning- trying to keep it nice for grandparents coming Friday)
Took an armload of CDs upstairs that had been cluttering the kitchen for over a year
Studied for my upcoming board exam
Did 3 loads of laundry
....... I feel like there should be more! Like I'm forgetting stuff. Oh well.
Back to work tonight for 5 nights... In laws coming this weekend too so I'm bracing for the insanity and *trying* to keep up on housework so I don't kill myself cleaning in the 11th hour before they arrive.
Hello again .... managed to go shopping at the market before 11:00 am
then prepared a picnic and left before 12:00 noon
arrived at the park after one family but before the other family we were meeting up with arrived
so was "comfortable" about not being THAT late ....
we went insects searching with nets & had to look around colored peebles leading us to warious posters to work out what type of insects they were & write it down on a record sheet & the children were awarded a "diploma" in the end (except the handing out diplomas part took ages so we didn't wait for the free cookies, just came back home to have our afternoon snack)
today, have mopped some pee droplets in front of the toilet
got the children to pick up their clothes from the drying racks & fold them and put them away
washed the breakfast dishes .... and not even ran one load of washing !
am about to clean the inside of the bath and the washbasin & start giving baths
i hope i still have chicken nuggets in the freezer because i don't feel like cooking much tonight ...
today i did my 4 water points (sink, toilet, washbasin, tub)
ran one load of laundry & put it out to dry on balcony
started another load
took out most of 2012 and some of 2011 unsorted paperwork (clustered in a magazine holder), have made piles on the dining room table, by categories, am about to put piles in chronological order in punch files pockets ... whilst listening to a radio program about .... procrastination ... basically i just sort of stopped properly dealing with paperwork when i got my diagnosis in 2011 .... today is my second 6 months check up so i really need to get out of that "am ill, i can't do it" mentality ..... for 2013 , have spent 10 euros last month for a stand up, expendable, color coded paper sorter, so i'm hoping that the minute i get a bill or some "to keep type of paper" i'll shed the enveloppe and stick it in the "right" pocket of the organiser, it has 13 pockets, so i can use one for the "i don't know where to put that paper"
have also prepared the part of my medical file which i want/ need to take along this afternoon + put a post it to remember which prescription i need to ask for the tests to be done before the next check up in 6 months (i alternate doctors, once a year at the hospital, once a year with a specialist "in town")
got DH to sign the paper version of the tax declaration, which i'm about to walk 30 minutes to drop at the right office since i left it too late to post (am not going swimming so that will be my exercise of the day, together with the walking to the doctor this afternoon)
i really should make a push to put the piles in punch file pockets before i go out .... but i feel so anxious ... presumably the walking will do me good ....
Bejeweled, i hope you find a new swimming costume you like, i got myself one last month, after putting it off for months and feel so much better now when i go swimming .....
- ok, tax paper dropped
- stopped by at Aldi on the way back & brought back a few items, including a small steam mop (didn't think they would still have some, it was a "day special" last week or 10 days ago ...), am planning to use it on some rugs we have ...
- going to make lunch & have a 20 minutes nap before going for my medical appointment (technically my "first" 6 months check up in fact, not my second, since 6 months ago it was an " end of second phase of treatment" type of checkup)
hoping to find the nerve/courage to tackle some more paperwork to distribute to punch file pockets, one pile is actually a variety of bills i need to separate...
no idea yet what we'll be eating tonight .... (except that i baught a cantaloupe melon and a pineapple at Aldi)
where's my post for last night ? i suppose i clicked on preview instead of submit and then was called away from the computer ...
was saying .... hope you get to find a swimming costume that you like
i treated myself to one last month ..... and wish i had done it earlier, (i feel so much better in the new one !)
last night i had a school friend of DD1 who dropped by, having missed her bus home .. as we talked eating a snack in the kitchen, i could see all the cleaning i had meant to do on Sunday which didn't happen & which i wish i had done then (streaks down surfaces)
so the minute DD1 walked her back to the coach station i started with sweeping & mopping up the floor, then wiped most vertical surfaces (including the door & door frame), wiped the chairs too ... before dinner time is always a hard time for me for getting organised ...
i got DS to vaccuum in the kids bedroom
DD1 braught back some fresh bread & vaccumed nearby the TV
i vaccumed in the lounge
looked up on line for a video to show DS how to peel a pineapple
made decent meal .... but left the washing up for today !
this morning i overslept but still managed to get DD2 at school on time, remembering to bring back the library book
(am NOT happy with the teacher, i don't think parents should be responsible for having a book that belongs to school, in their home for a week, if they don't want to, i tried objecting & she used emotional blackmail in reply which irritates me "she'll be only one NOT borrowing a book from school" ..... i have 3 kids, we already go to 2 different libraries, ... and spent 7 weeks looking for a lost book this spring, i don't need more aggravation from school, the mere fact that it stresses me out should be enough for us to be allowed to opt out ... meanwhile, my neighbor complains because her son, in the next class, doesn't get to bring a library book home, different teacher, different activities .... same age and grade though ...)
i under estimate how long it takes to sort stuff out ...
- went into DD1 underwear drawer (she's soon leaving for a 10 days long school trip), she HAS enough briefs, definitely, .... but i fished out smaller bras she has'nt worn for at least 2 years (which i thought we had donated months and months ago .....) .... i definitely need to hurry and get her some more bras ASAP
- cut out some adult white trousers i was given by someone working in a hospital & need to pin the belt again and get DS to try them on (he's taking part in a circus acts show at an old people's home on Friday, i must HURRY to finish his costume)
- this am, i listened-tried to provide moral support to another school mom (going through a painful separation) for 30 minutes, then attacked the washing up, had breakfast, sanitised the toilet, ran one load of laundry and put it up to dry, cut out a shawl in two, found my long lost crochet hooks and latest portable project (which i take for when i wait for the bus)
- sent an e-mail
.. as usual, left it a bit late to review my dance routines .....
