Hello Bejeweled .... sorry for the late reply, was 4 days without a computer to play with !!!
yes, all of my kids are at school today .... but am half out of action unfortunately ...
i started "seeing things floating" on Monday morning in front of my right eye,
didn't quite realise it was that serious & urgent but still managed to be seen by my eye doctor on Thursday am
=> she rang on the spot to make an appointment with a surgeon later that day & i was operated on on Friday afternoon !
all very sudden and frightening (= if we don't do anything today, next week, you won't have any vision from that eye....)
there's some gaz injected into my eye so i don't see much with it yet (unless i point my nose to the floor and the object is very near)
i do hope i'll be among the 15 out of 20 patients who only need one operation to save their vision ...
DH is NOT used to taking care of laundry, cooking, kids AND all the paperwork for school ....
he did not bad at all actually but the flat will still be a mess for a little while because i'm not going to hurry
am afraid i already did too much today
- walked DD2 to school & did a little shopping with a backpack (am not allowed to carry much)
- took the recycling out & walked to the market for 2 items
- 3 loads of laundry, sheets changed in double bed
- sanitised the toilet
- washed up and shined the sink
i had some broiled fish and a mixed salad for lunch (forgot to re-heat the left over potatoes so they went into the salad !)
i wanted to nap a little while ago but also to catch up with e-mails
... i know of a psychologist who does some work in the community founded by the local authority & within one hour of e-mailing her this morning (i bumped into her at the market last Wedn am), she replied with the name of someone who works with her this year and could see me to talk things through in case i feel down .... SO, computer time IS important for that too !!!)
i came home on Sat, about lunchtime but decided to go and give a hand distributing leaflets for the martial art class DS takes; there was a two days fair with many booths and all different sports clubs showing their routines and works through the day in two different display areas.
I was mainly sitting down at the front of the booth trying to give out leaflets and details of class time => i suppose my doctor wouldn't have approved but it did very good to my morale (not to be alone, feeling crippled and in hiding with my new "disability")
I was driven on Sat pm .... but didn't see the opened car door so bumped my head in it .... luckily the two days fair was in an outdoor setting so i quickly found a long branch & some white refuse material i scotched taped to one end and haven't bumped into many people since ... yesterday evening i changed and used a broom handle on which i have scotched tape a white piece of paper ....
i had all my medical certificates ready to start doing all manners of sports (which i don't get to do during the summer) ..... and now i have to wait, at least 2 or 3 weeks ..... so rather frustrated
i should got and have a nap soon-ish otherwise i won't get the chance before getting DD2 from school ....
