10-15 Minute Cleaning Sessions (New Thread) - Page 10

Today so far:

  • dishes - unloaded and loaded dishwasher
  • cleaned the sink
  • 10 min cleanup in living area
  • refilled toilet paper holder
  • cleaned up some sticky spots on the kitchen floor
  • went thru DD's 2 main toy bins and pulled out all the LEGOs for a major declutter project.  They are all in a box now TBD what we'll do with them.  She doesn't even play with them.
  • diapers stuffed / diapers air drying
  • 1 load of clothes laundry folded and put away
  • 1 load washing

I think I earned myself some lunch while watching tv.  orngbiggrin.gif

Washed dishes, wiped down counter tops
Decluttered a bit
Vacuumed
Mopped entryway in the living room
Picked up my slob husband's crap that he just left in the living room
Made my bed
Washed laundry (had a wet sheet from a certain leaky little guy, and our couch cover needed cleaning)
Put away laundry from yesterday
Stripped diapers. I would LOVE to get my boy back in cloth. I think maybe our washer doesn't get hot enough to kill all the bacteria since as soon as we moved here (end of May) he started having problems with cloth. He did fine before. I think he might have inherited C's ultra-sensitive skin (even if I change hourly, if I don't alternate with disposables, he gets nasty sores that sometimes bleed when we wipe) so the regular cotton prefolds might just be a little too itchy for his bottom, and the combination of that and whatever won't come out of the dipes is causing the problem. I'm going to cut up a fleece blanket into strips and line his diapers with those and see if it helps. I hate using disposables. I cringe every time I have to use one. Anywho, hopefully the stripping from today will work!

I ended up running errands much of the day... got very little done here aside from dinner and two loads of laundry.

So tired tonight i dozed off on the couch and woke up to a destroyed house.

The movers called this afternoon and changed the date they are coming from Saturday afternoon to Thursday afternoon so we lost 2 days!! Its going to be really busy especially since Im not canceling the farm trip tomorrow (we have had to reschedule 3 times, 2 times because I was sick and this morning because the kids slept in.. I don't want to put it off again and end up not going).. Im really getting to old for late nights and early mornings!

Time to go get the baby to go to sleep (he took a really LATE nap..) then finish cleaning up the living room. After that I need to look and see just how much we have left to do.

I haven't achieved much today. I got up at six, showered and all that jazz. Then had breakfast (glass of milk so early in the morning) and left for university. When I got back home I cooked some macaroni and apple sausage curry, I checked for jobs, applied for a few, and then I've been spending the afternoon being absolutely unproductive.

I blame my rumbling stomach. It has been rumbling non-stop since this morning of some reason no matter what I eat.

Anyhow, off to help cook dinner. We're having pork filet in sweet and sour sauce served with pineapple and rice.

Almost done my kids room! waiting on some boxes so I can pack up most of their books and toys. we are going to move in the next while (hopefully sooner than later), and I really want to get some things packed and put away so I don't have to clean and organize it all at the same time! I have already packed up their playmobil into a big heavy duty zippered bag from IKEA. They want the LEGO left out but other than that, some bedtime books and the things needed for home-schooling,  im going to put it all away. I find if I do this they are so happy when they see it again, so it works multiple ways!

also worked on my laundry room this am. got all but one load washed and dried. de-cluttered the shelf and vaccumed the floor.. i have a few bags of baby clothes to give away and some shoes in a bag to sort out and try on the kids..they are stored on the change table that now is used as a shelf in there. i have a few loads of washing to sort and put away.

also mopped the bathroom floor. not intentionally...my cat jumped up on a shelf and knocked over something glass filled with liquid. charming...

When I was a kid, the Lego was definitely the best toy I knew. No other toy could be both a strange robot for my brother to play with, a beautiful tranquil garden (complete with guard house against said robot) and a dog kennel for my sisters giant Bellville puppies. :)

As for that floor...perhaps the cat was trying to be helpful in its own way? "This be clutter! Gone with you!" Not its fault it has no proper hands to grip and move things with, is it? And in any case, never hurts to mop the floor. Which reminds me, I really should at least vaccuum ours today.

I began my day with a phone call from the work agency, telling me they wanted some more information. Not too hopeful about actually getting the job, but it is a move in the right direction at least. :)

So far I have:

- Got up and dressed, all the way to sheepskin slippers (very good for avoiding calluses).

- Made my bed.

- Folded away clothes floating around.

- Folded towels I used yesterday, and put them on my hamper, so I know they are okay to use again for me but no one else uses them.

- Had lunch/brunch in the form of two toasts, a glass of milk and two eggs. A bit excessive, perhaps, but I've been only having dark bread and butter for the last half month and we got money today. So a bit of celebration was in order. :)

- Made dinner. Left over apple and curry sauce, with macaroni. Very quick (all but ten minutes) and delicious.

Let's see what the rest of the day brings. :)

Good morning! :)

I finally was able to replace my laptop...yay! I've missed this thread! I haven't gone back to see what I missed, but hope everyone is doing well and being productive. :)

I am looking at a very light schedule in the coming weeks and am so welcoming it! I just feel like all I want to do is be at home right now.

Today, I would like to:

...get boys to school

...buy a new binder and some pencils for my dd and drop it off to her

...go to prenatal visit

...general pick up of house

...some paper/computer work before kids get home

My husband is going to make dinner tonight, buffalo chicken sandwiches...I can't wait!  eat.gif

Then, I'm going to spend the night helping a good momma friend who just had a baby. love.gif
