I can understand. I feel Facebook is such a time waste, I want to quit, but then I am so scared I won't hear from my family in Europe half as much. :(

Ok so far today I:

*Loaded dishwasher

*Made breakfast for DH and I, DH already got DS1 breakfast for me

*Kissed DS1 off to school

*Nursed, changed diapers, got DS2 dressed

*Went shopping at Kohls with my bff

*Went to eat lunch at fuddrucker bff

*Got home, argued with DS1 (always fun) because he doesn't think he needs to wash his hands and change out of his uniform when he gets home. lol

*Started Laundry

And this all on 3 hours of sleep. DS2 (7 wks old) was awoken by DH when he got to bed at 1AM and decided to have fussy time until about 3 AM. lol

What I would still like to do today is:

*Clean the nasty litterbox

*Put clothes in the dryer/fold

*Dinner

*SLEEP!

The mental/emotional space it freed was amazing. I did go back and I may end up deactivating again for that very reason.

It is very helpful to see what I've done, especially on the days that it doesn't look like much. :-) It's also helpful the nights I type the to do list for the next day (which is just a copy and paste from a  Word Doc, adapted from Motivated Moms Daily List) because I just need to refer to it the next day and not worry so much about what I need to do. If I don't get to something, I don't stress; I just focus (or try to focus) on all that I got done. I may forget it until it comes around again or I might add it to the next day's list.

I've had a several week period where I've really floundered, not accomplishing a whole lot. Boy, was I unhappy! This week I jumped back in. I even got up early this morning to write! Yay me!

One success I've had this week has to do with cooking, something that can be stressful with a 2 year old and a 5 month old. I've switched to cooking in the morning when my toddler is calm and my baby is napping. I've been doubling a lot of recipes, so I don't cook nearly as often. On Sunday I made a double batch of polenta, a double batch of  barbecue sauce and a big pot of rice. This lasted us a few meals and lunches. On Monday I made a double batch of chili beans and shepherd's pie. These meals lasted us the week pretty much and I was freed to make desserts like rice pudding, chocolate pudding & banana bread, which I normally wouldn't get to. I've come to a place that when it's meal time, I just heat something up that is nutritious. I made Neatloaf yesterday and today I will focus on a side vegetable dish, mashed potatoes and gravy. The main dish is done. Also, I made a HUGE pot of Alphabet Soup today to last several days. It's not even noon yet. But anyway, this cooking ahead and doubling recipes helps me on the days that are tough where I can't keep my head above water. I don't HAVE to cook a healthy meal from scratch; I can merely heat one up. It removes a lot of the stress factor and makes cooking enjoyable again.:-)

Gripe: I ran out of soy sauce! Who runs out of soy sauce?!

ETA: The daily list looks long, but a lot of it is stuff that is quickly done if part of a routine. For example, I don't count sweeping the floor or cleaning the counters until I do them the last time as part of dinner cleanup. If I don't get to some items on the list, I don't sweat it. Also, I delegate some things to DH (like taking out the trash and scooping the litter box) and he helps with supper cleanup.

I love Poetry's quote: If I don't get to something, I don't stress; I just focus (or try to focus) on all that I got done. I may forget it until it comes around again or I might add it to the next day's list.

nod.gif This is KEY for me. No stress. smile.gif

Today I wasn't feeling so good so I called to reschedule my interview that was this morning. I haven't yet heard from her. I need to feel better before I commit to a part time job. My health is my #1 priority.

So far I:
*made breakfast
*got DD off to school
*gathered the trash
*cleaned out most of the refrigerator
*straightened up a lot
*napped some
*took the car in for a check up
*made dinner and did cleanup

I hope to:
*read & relax reading.gif
