OkiMom, I am so happy for you and your family!!!!!!

MonkeyPrincess, what an awesome way to spend your weekend!

Lovesong, I am so not on top of things.I go through periods where I am. Then I sometimes lose my groove and have to find it again. For me, it's hard having 2 under 2 (although my oldest turns 2 at the end of this month) and to be alone with them so very much while DH is at work, school or studying. I haven't even been able to exercise, so something has to give soon. And sometimes I'm just in a funk. That's been the case lately and I am just trying to lift myself out of it. Cleaner, clearer surroundings help me to do that.

Today I am exercising, going off to write by myself, making my goals clear, mailing a letter and a package & driving around neighborhoods DH and I would like to live in, making note of phone numbers on houses for rent. :-) ...And cleaning, always cleaning.

Dishes- 1 load- i did two yesterday

Living room- Ten Minutes

I love reading about all the progress you ladies make. It makes me feel it is possible to get things done. Even what seems impossible.

Today has been a slightly better day.

- I've managed to read ten pages, another twelve to go (yeah...tiny steps of progress).

- I have the 500 word essay I'm supposed to hand in before midnight almost planned properly, reference list and all.

- I did 35 minutes of yoga, which included a healthy 10 minutes of meditation and relaxation (yogatic on youtube is my favourite, for when I just need some inspiration for moves/sequences).

- I picked up in my bedroom combined office. There's only a pair of headphones on the floor after the yoga practise, and a pile of clean clothes to be folded and put away again.

- I did make my bed of sorts. At least, the pillows are fluffed, the sheet properly tucked around the mattress and the duvet turned down to air.

And well, let's not overdo it. Small steps does it,

I finally got my dining room table cleared off!!!  joy.gif

Also:

  • set 15 min timer in living and dining area
  • DH went thru the mail pile and sorted important from non-important!!  HUGE!!

It's not cleaning persay, but yesterday while DD was at school, I put the baby in the jumper next to the treadmill and ran for 20 minutes.  I think it was a good way to declutter my brain. I instantly felt better!!

Baby_Cakes, that dining room looks great! Lots better than ours that is at the moment laundry central. And getting the mail sorted...that reminds me I really should have a look through the pile at the mantle piece for any important things.

Magic eraser works for crayons.. So does the toothpaste trick. The toothpaste also works for sharpie hide.gif My kids get into a lot of things, even things that are locked up and out of reaching distance. You will be surprised what kids can get into when you go to the bathroom or lay the baby down for a nap. innocent.gif

So, my hubby has volunteered to watch the kids and work on packing today.. I'm not sure if that is safe but we shall see winky.gif so I'm going to work on some projects I still haven't managed to get to. DD1's birthday is the 29th (shes turning 5!), DS's birthday is Feb 4th (turning 1) and we have pictures on Jan 27th so we are going to be busy. Seems like things never slow down during the winter months! Luckily I don't have the heat to add to the problem, I don't do well getting things done when I'm hot.

Projects that need to get done soon:

Cut out shrugs for pictures

cut out dresses for pictures

cut out DS's birthday outfit

cut out DD's birthday outfit (Im cheating, Im using the same pattern for her birthday outfit as I am for pictures so its easier to get done)

finish sewing soft book (veggietale)

finish sewing soft book (mickey mouse)

Sew zipper on dress 1

sew zipper on dress 2

sew my picture shrug

sew DD1's picture shrug

sew DD2's picture shrug

sew giraffe shoes for DS's birthday outfit

sew dino shoes (no real reason for these but he needs shoes and they match an outfit Im making for him)

fix sweater front (priority, Ive been putting this off for to long!)

fix sweater back

sew front of sweater to back

embroidery on sweater

hairties for the pictures and for DD1's birthday outfit

cast on vest and knit up to arm holes (Im so grateful that DS is still a baby right about now, a 12 month size vest is so much easier than say I was doing for for my oldest!)

knit collar on sweater

I also need to figure out what needs to get done for the rest of the week. Should be fun orngbiggrin.gif

Lovesong, it's all about baby steps. ... I'm hoping to be back in school in a couple years. For now I'm just going to work some creative writing in a few times a week, even for half an hour a time. I'll eventually go for my MFA in Poetry. I will! I will! I will! But right now babies are calling. happytears.gif

Baby_Cakes, awesome job! Doesn't it feel great to clear papers off? They can get to be so overwhelming. I love your hardwood floors, by the way.

OkiMom, what an awesome DH to volunteer to work and care for the children while you get projects done.

Okay, ladies, I missed Quaker meeting this morning. I was too busy snoozing. Apparently I needed the snoozing. I have a lot to get done today, First thing, though, I'm getting ready and going for coffee and to write. I need that. I might pump a little milk before I leave.

I was good last night and did Pilates for 40 minutes. It felt so nice. I want to do a little exercising nearly everyday.

When I return from the coffee shop:

In Progress Wash, dry, fold and put away at least 2 loads of laundry

Declutter more of my diaper stash

Clean the bathroom

Clean the litter box

Put away and wash dishes

Make a wholesome, nutritious supper

Declutter my clothes (& have DH declutter his?)

Pick up the bedroom, living room

Vacuum

Make a meal plan and possibly grocery list

Devise some sort of basic schedule for myself, a bit more organization to my days

Exercise

Took DS to an indoor playground

Well, I have managed to accomplish a couple things last night and this morning:

Finished washing all of Babygirl's clothes

Organize paperwork

Put all appointments from random scraps of paper into my planner...

Done about 1/3 of the dishes (ran out of drying space and have no clean towels to dry with...)

Posted a crib, carseat, and formula for sale to hopefully make some money to get through this week

Still have left:

Tons of dishes (I wish soooo badly that I could get it into DH and his roommate, who are 24&25, to at the very minimum scrape the dishes, and if its going to be a pita maybe to soak it??? They do random middle of the night, super junkfood baking)

Handwash as much laundry as I can feasibly fit on my shower curtain rod...

Unsticker and de-crayon my dresser from where Babygirl snuck in while coloring while I was doing dishes

Find some gas and milk money

I suppose that's all for now.
