Kick counts with anterior placenta

I guess I am not really a kick counter...this is baby #4 and I just kind of trust things are fine. But this is the first time I have had an anterior placenta. With my first 3 I had definite movement at 16 weeks and by the time I hit 20+, babies were BUSY.  I am 23 weeks now, anterior placenta, didn't feel baby until 19-20 weeks, and will go days now where I feel one tiny kick all day.  Our 20 week anatomy scan had a kidney abnormality, which may resolve, but 2 of our other 3 have some health things that manifested post birth and are somewhat genetic, so I am a bit more paranoid this time that things don't ALWAYS go right.  I have had no bleeding, cramping, and this has been a wonderfully smooth pregnancy.

But with an anterior placenta, do you hit a point when you DO it things like normal, or do I just cross my fingers and hope for the best? :)

is anterior placenta the same/similar to placenta previa? i have partial placenta previa with this baby(#3) and ive definitely had some dr ordered restrictions and also had to deal with this pregnancy differently as far as pacing myself energy wise(had some spotting @ 4mo though) you said youve had no symptoms like bleeding/cramping. Curious what anterior placenta is.....

Goodmama~  No they are not the same.

I also have an anterior placenta.  You do feel movement much less according to my midwife.  When I compare the movement I feel to others at the same gestation they feel WAY more than I do.  It took me so long to feel the first movements and I was relieved to know I had an anterior placenta-- just to know why.  I am now 25 weeks and 4 days and I am starting to feel more consistent movement (not always very big movements, but at least more often).  I think as the baby gets bigger you will feel more.

I had an anterior placenta for one of my pregnancies. I rarely, if ever, felt any kicks or movement. I believe, with an anterior placenta, you have to disregard the normal kick count advice.

I had an anterior placenta with my last - and by the time i got my third trimester I would say i was feeling the baby every day and could even say he was downright active.   Having an anterior placenta did interfere with the MW being able to get a good read with the Doppler - she would always have to put it way underneath my belly - or closer to my back- all over the place - i think that was really the only issue with having the placenta in front.
