5yo on day 5 of a low-grade fever, WWYD?

My 5yo DS has had a fever for the last 5 days. He has complained of headache and neck pain, but no sore throat. The entire family has been sick with a pretty nasty cold for the last week or so.

DS has been waking up with a low fever of right around 100 every morning. He lounges around on the couch for a while under blankets and says he is tired. He has been eating normally. We had a lot of family things to do over the holidays so I was giving him some ibuprofen each morning. Within an hour of so he is up running around and acting completely normal.

Today the rest of the family went back to school and work so DS and I are home alone. He has been lying on the couch and napping all morning. I just took his temp and it's 100.1. I think I have my plan for the day but I know I'm going to have to defend my position to DH when he gets home.

What do you think? What would you do in this situation?

Honestly, I wouldn't do anything.  I wouldn't even be doing ibuprofen unless he was actually in pain.  Sounds like he's trying to fight something off and a fever is the body's way of doing that so, I wouldn't interfere with that process.  A very low grade fever with minimal other symptoms is something I wouldn't really worry about.  I'd do vit C, vit D, probiotics and fluids and let it run it's course.  I've found winter colds can last longer than other colds - maybe because of the holidays and getting run down?   Hope he feels better soon!

100.1 isn't high enough to kill the bug.  I would wrap my kiddo in boankets and pump him full of pepermint or ginger to tea to get him warmed up from the inside out.  I'd wanna get that fever just a bit higher so it could do its job and knock the bug out.

I'd also do all the immune support stuff mentioned by the PP.
