We are glad you found this thread. We are a group of Mamas trying to get back in shape postpartum. We have varying amounts of weight to lose and and are trying a variety of strategies to do so. Welcome.

Welcome to 2012! So, I am finally updating my stats and fessing up to a gradual slip since my October vacation. I am up 10 lbs jaw.gif Nothing to do now I suppose but dust myself off and get back at it. It is interesting how difficult it is to get off the sugar train. There were some meals that were not great but, for the most part, I think it was the holiday treats and holiday drinks. DH and I are drying out this month and I figure that will be good for a few lbs.

 

On a different topic, work is always extra busy at the beginning of the year. Is anyone interested in taking over as moderator in February?

Wow, apparently it has been awhile since I updated my stats.  I'm now at 162 with a current goal weight of 150.  I'm down to the lowest I've been since baby #1 was born almost 15 years ago!  I was about 150 prior to that pregnancy.  So far most of the weight has just come off due to diet and detoxing from my various food intolerances recently discovered.  I had no time for exercise last month, since I was sewing about 2/3s of christmas, but I'm trying to fit more exercise in this month.  We got Just Dance 3 for Christmas, and that's definitely a workout.  I love that you can actually play up to four at once, and even my 3 yo loves it.  My 10 mo old twins are teething and feverish, making them clingy and not sleeping at night, so this week I only managed two days of it, but hopefully they'll be over it soon!

mylilmonkeys- That is fantastic! Congratulations. My apologies if I missed an update before but it was kind of fun to just update your stats with a 10 lb loss. Awesome.

Thanks!  I'm sure you didn't miss anything.  I've had various computer and internet problems and haven't been posting much for nearly a month.

Where is everyone?

 

I'm down to 156 this week.  I'm on the GAPS diet while dealing with my digestive issues, so the weight is falling off very quickly.  I seriously need to work on my abs, though.  I'm so ecstatic that I'm about to hit my 15 year old goal weight!  Talk about a long process! LOL  At this rate, it looks like I may lose more weight than I ever thought possible.  I'm more concerned about just getting my body to function properly, though.

sorry I haven't posted here. I've been updating on the new years resolution thread because it was pretty hot the first two weeks of January. I was doing really well last week and lost 6 pounds in one week then my husband had this week off work. He always feeds me and bakes and eats take out. Needless to say I didn't even weigh myself this week. I seem to lose and gain the same ten pounds over and over again.

Sorry that your dh is undoing all your hard work!  What a bummer.  Before I started on my elimination diet, I had the same problem with my dh on the weekends.  But it's nice to have him around.

Oh I totally understand the whole DH thing. My DH is actually on board. We're doing WW together. Last night we decided to use up some apples making an appley dessert for the family. I will spare you the details but it was a special treat out of Cooking Light magazine. I knew how many points were in half the dessert. It makes two and I was going to share mine with the kids. It's actually meant to be shared. Anyhow, there's 9 points and I saved myself 9. DH says, "Let me enter my food today and see what I have. How many points in the whole thing? Is that all? Ok I can eat it." Now, I get that he is bigger than I am yadda, yadda, yadda but he didn't even have to scrimp and save. Annoying!

 

 

mylilmonkeys- So glad the weight is coming off easily for you. Hopefully this will bring your body into alignment.

 

trekkingirl I have been stuck in that +/- 10 lb rut. I was just in one but picked up a couch to 5K program again and that seems to be helping. Good luck!

my DH lost 75 lbs and has kept it off by eating fast food and baking treats,. Now that's annoying. I eat healthy and stay fat.

 

 

ETA  since injury on my back I am very sedintary and he is very active

Ladies, I finished week 7 of my couch to 5K today. I can now run (jog with huffing and puffing) 25 minutes straight.

Can I join here? I had my baby around Halloween, am 4 lbs above pp of 136, which was still 5 above my ideal goal of 131. I had hit it with hard work and determination before ttc, but it was such an effort I slowly added back the 5. Weight gain in pregnancy was fine, 29 lbs, and just like with my first, anything above 25 is what I'm left with postpartum. I know it is not a ton of weight, but being closer to goal means the lbs come off much more slowly...

I joined the eight week challenge thread to try to help keep me motivated. I have been encouraging DH to help me feel more confident by complimenting me more. That's like pulling teeth for him. We'll see how he does. I think buying that shirt I've been wanting after I hit my first goal will help. How is everybody doing?

Welcome! I will add your stats. If I read this correctly you are 140 lbs with a goal of 131?

I am so angry with myself right now. We have a big bag of Hershey's kisses in the house and once I eat one I just can't stop. I have not had any today but afternoon is my danger zone and yesterday I ate like 25. Literally 25 of them. I almost threw them out but my son loves them and manages to eat a couple and be happy with that. I thought, what am I going to tell him? Mommy had to throw them out because she can't control herself. Ugh.
