idk wtf kept Finn up all night, too, Michelle, but I'm right there with you!!!  Damn teething!!  Damn whatever this is!!!

Finally at 5 am I gave up and put him in the swing.  I passed out on the couch.  I've no idea if he went back to sleep, but the next thing I knew it was 830 and DD was standing over me.  It's going to be a 2 pot of coffee day.

He's not in a growth spurt, teething or learning some New Big Thing. He's a happy baby and he eats, sleeps and plays.

I'm enjoying this time. It's nice.

I went to a friend's house and he easily took two naps on me while we were there. It's getting easier :)

My 3 year old is sooooo needy this week, I feel completely spent. Completely. Everything is mommy come here,, mommy come see, mommy I need your hugs. I can't even leave the room, she needs hugs, or she will miss me.

She's at school right now. Ooh thank goodness for school.

I think it's bc Daddy is gone this week, but still, it's hard.

His flight got delayed, too. He won't be home until way late. Wah.

OH that sucks! I was daydreaming of him walking in the door and you throwing two kids at him and running away for a massage or to sit alone in a quiet room or something.

Why do I daydream about other people's lives? :)

that does suck -im so sorry, Carrie.  Im having my own pity party because DH is too tired to take lO tonight and i am dreaming of a night of SLEEP - there's been a lot of kicking going on at night- ay try the swaddle again.  I dream of other lives as well- I look at other peoples eyes now and think 'are they sleeping through the night???"

Last night DD had a fever, not super high, but was up a lot.  We actually had her just sleep with us, but still.  I would comfort her and then DS would want to nurse something like every hour.  Buuuut, I did get some sleep, which would not have happened if she had been in her own bed.  Today will be an extra coffee kind of day

Last night sucked again for us too.  Idk wtf is going on.  He is congested, and can't settle.  His arms are pissing him off.  He twists himself sideways in the cosleeper.  I put him in bed with me and he was too congested to nurse.  Ugh.  Up at 6 after like, 3 hours of sleep SUCKS.  And it makes noon feel like 5 pm.

I just had a strange fantasy about going out shopping, parking somewhere and taking a nap in the car.

those are the days coffee doesnt even make a dent in my functioning level- i feel for you Carrie- many / most of my fantasies are all about sleep these days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Ive thought of the car nap many days!  hang in there, Mama - tomorrow will come - and eventually we will all sleep again.  Breathe

I'm exhausted, and I'm getting sick. I have a persistent crack in my right nipple for which I had an appointment this afternoon with my ob. I was ready to rush out of the door at the end of school and two students came to me with an urgent issue. Of course I stayed to talk with them because what else am I supposed to do? Then I got stuck behind every school bus in the county and got to my appointment 13 minutes late. /they wouldn't see me. I now have to take a half day tomorrow and write sub plans for a 15 minute appt so I don't get mastitis. Does this seem fair? I've had to sit in that waiting room longer than that LOTS of times! And it hurt because we had such a great relationship through the preg and birth. It pushed me over the edge and I've been dissolving into tears all evening.

Seriously, I hear you about fantasizing about sleep. It IS my hobby now. Carrie, I hope you got more sleep the last nights.

Tear, I am so sorry about the late appointment thing! That is so frustrating that they wouldn't just see you even if you were a few minutes late.

Do you know what your OB might prescribe for you? I only ask because some docs are kind of clueless about these issues. I've heard great things about Dr. Newman's All Purpose Nipple Ointment, but you have to have a Rx for it and it has to be made in a compounding pharmacy. Here's the link with the info about it.

Here's hoping that you get a little extra sleep tonight!

Cat, thanks for the advice. I had spoken w/ a lactation consultant and she said to request that stuff.

btw - I think DD and I just slept about 3 hours in a row! I feel so rested! Thank you little one! We're even nursing sitting up.

GAK!  It was 1:30 in the morning and you were sitting up!  I'm sending love to your nipple.  Is that weird?  Yes.  Yes it is.  But it's now 12:30am here and I don't care.  Sadly I'm not up because I'm nursing my baby, I'm up because I'm preparing to help facilitate a highly contentious meeting this weekend among a community of folks I love.  Yay!  Ugh.

ps.  Kick your ob in the ovaries for me, m'kay?  kidding...kidding...
