Soaker shorts pattern, please! SPAM welcome

Yay! My mom has decided to knit me a soaker. She wants two things: a pattern (shorts-style, with the rolling leg) and to know how long it takes to handknit one, approximately. Also, what size needle is generally used?

Cool! Someone earlier suggested the LTK pants pattern but to shorten the legs. Sorry, just learned to knit myself and haven't gotten the courage to venture into a soaker YET. :LOL

Here's JennyAdoptChina's pants pattern (with lots of adorable pics of her daughter). She does Tiny Birds soakers. You could just make the inseam whatever you want. Measure from a pair of shorts you like the fit of. And here's the rest of all of the on-line soaker/pants patterns I know of.

Thanks, Karen. I am trying to find the pattern from which my daughter's shorts were made. There's an extra layer in the crotch, and I think they were knitted in the round because there is no sewing.
