Trying to be patient....isn't easy.

Hi everyone. New here. Pardon if I don't use all of the right abbreviations yet..

Husband and I have been TTC for 2 months now for our 1st. I'm 33, going on 34 soon.

My cycle has been fairly regular for the last 2 years, varying by only a day or two.

I have a ClearBlue monitor which I've been using to help track ovulation for the last 3 months.

My enthusiasm for this next step in our life has been met with unexpected confusion.

I should have gotten AF on 12/26. I am 7 days late today. I've taken a dozen tests, all negative.

I've had some mild cramping. Mild nausea. All sorts of possible early symptoms. (or what I would like them to be...)

How long should I wait??--- Should I hold out and 'just see what happens next month' ? Should I go in and see a doc since it's unusual for me to miss a period? Freaking out since I'm not getting any younger, but trying to have perspective given that it's only month two....

Looking to regain some sanity...

hug2.gifTry to relax! You could always go see your doctor just to run a quantitative HCG test or an ultrasound. Most likely, i would just wait. I never tested positive til i was slightly over 5 weeks pregnant!  I also actually randomly missed a period the month before i conceived my first and the doctor said to come at about 2 weeks after i have missed would be normal. Good luck! I hope you get pregnant soon!

Thanks for the support- I really appreciate it. Here's an update....

I took your advice and tried to get my mind off it. Decided to start planning the colors for our half-bath mini facelift with a plan to get a doc checkup on Friday if nothing happens either way.

Lo and behold, AF (or what I think it to be at this point) arrived this evening.

Of course, bummed that it won't be our turn yet ...but reading all of the posts on this forum has me hopeful. Also, it is really good to know that a lot of gals don't get pregnant right away....but that many are eventually successful. Not sure why, but it seems that I have the most fertile friends on the planet who are successful right away.....

I think I'm going to do some more in-depth charting and plan to read TCOYF this weekend.

Thanks everyone for providing such a helpful forum. TTC is a complicated, exciting, bizzare, frustrating, wonderful time... good to know others are out there who are going through the same thing.
