pregnancy and your immune system

This is my first pregnancy and I don't know if it's just a coincidence, but I seem to be getting sick a lot!  Normally I don't get sick, but since conceiving I have had bronchitis, a possible yeast infection, and now I'm getting a stye in one of my eyes!  None of these things alone is that big a deal, but to have had all of them in the past month and a half is really weird to me-- especially since I've been taking vitamins, eating pretty well, and getting LOTS of sleep!

Has anyone else noticed that their immune system doesn't seem to be functioning so well since becoming pregnant?

My 2nd pregnancy was like that. I got illnesses I'd never had before like a yeast infection (which is extremely common in pregnancy), I also got a cold sore (never had before), and I got a stomach virus. Not much I can tell you to do. Sounds like you're taking care of yourself. I guess some babies are just super excellent parasites!

Oh on a positive note, I did not feel like that the whole pregnancy. All of that was in the first trimester. I did feel like my immune system was down for the duration and past delivery, but not quite like that.

All I can suggest is drink tons of water (and eat salt to balance water intake) to help keep the system flushed and stay away from large groups of people if possible. At least when you know someone is sick, stay away.
