I didn't take any today, I'm sorry!  I'm sick all of a sudden (respiratory infection) and I have this awful abdominal pain.  If I still have it in the morning I'm going to the ER.  Anyway, wrong thread for my sob story but yeah.  I suck and I'll try to take photos soon!

Ok I reloaded the page like ten times and now I can see them :-)   It doesn't look huge!  Is it feeling too big in the hips or in the shoulders?  Can you reach under your arms and find those straps and tighten them while you have him on?  I have those nice and snug so he is pulled very close to me (I think this is key)- I think that helps with the upper back soreness.  For lower back soreness I'd watch your posture, especially if you're cooking while wearing it, and maybe loosen the hip strap so that he hangs down just a bit lower.  That might not do the trick, but I feel like if you're carrying him really high it could make your posture thrown off just enough to put too much strain on your lower back.  I think the back strap between your shoulder blades looks great- I always make sure that is nice and tight as well so that the shoulder straps don't start to slide.

Ughhhhh! I am no closer to choosing a carrier! Okay, a little closer... I ruled out the BabyHawk Mei Tai. It felt almost the same as my other mei tai. Anyway, I have only a few days left in my trial and can not decide between the Boba and the Gemini. I want to love the Boba because it is easier to get on, cuter, and has pockets. Plus, I think Jasper likes it better. It just seems like it puts him in a better position. But no matter what I do, I can't seem to get the waist strap in a position that doesn't hurt my lower back and pinch me back there. It's like it smooshes my back fat in a really uncomfortable way.

The Gemini is more comfortable to me, but Jasper doesn't like it quite as much. I like that it has more carry options. I didn't think I would use the front facing carry, but one day he was fussy the other way, so I did it and he loved it. Gemini downsides: no pockets (why??), not as cute, harder to put on. Plus, I struggle with the safety buckles. One time, I put him on my back and he hated it. Because of those darn two hand safety buckles, it took me five min to get him off my back. 

I haven't really tried the back carry much in either to compare that. He is not a back carry fan yet... too young, I think. Anyway, any ideas? I may just have to do eeny-meeny-miny-mo!

I wear my boba waist strap down on my hip bones, and I wear it "loose".  It's obviously tight enough that he isn't going to fall (plus his legs are out to the side so that isn't a concern anyway) but not so tight that is hurts me.  Like I said, I'm 5'4" so wearing it up on my natural waist would be so weird, because then I'd basically be looking Dylan in the eyes.  So I drop it down to a comfortable spot and I don't have any issues.  The shoulder straps are what really matter, in my opinion.  And as long as those are snug and he's held close to my body and isn't splayed outward away from my chest, then we're good to go for hours.  

Based on the instructions on their website, I think that would be too high of a carry for me.  Try positioning it a bit lower, especially since Jasper is a pretty big guy too!

I would do whatever is most comfortable to you. J is going to grow and change and one day he may like one more than the other and vice versa. 

Could you add an easy pocket to the Gemini?

Yeah, J, the lady on the website is practically unable to see around her toddler's head! I'm going to fiddle around with the Boba a bit more, but I think I did mostly make the decision. When I posted, I had been wearing Jasper in the Boba during the morning. After that, I headed out with the Gemini. It was such a relief to put it on. So I guess mostly settles it. What a coincidence! I think different carriers fit different people, well, differently. That was a horrible sentence. Thanks for all your help!

Christina, you are right. And I will look into adding a pocket. I wish I had gotten one of the pretty, limited edition Gemini's for my trial. Unfortunately, she doesn't do trials with those. I picked one of the plainer ones. Now I feel like when I buy one, I need to keep that one. Like it would be rude to send them back and then by another new one. I may ask about it, though... probably not. I hate to cause trouble!

Girl, get the one you want!  Send back that one, and pick out a different one.  I don't see a problem with that, and I'm such a people pleaser. :-)  I'm sure it's no trouble.  They want you to be happy!  And adding a pocket to the Gemini should be easy.  My boba doesn't have a pocket so I want to add one or two.  :-)  Glad you found one you like!

Yep, I agree with J - if they were going to be upset about you sending them all back, they wouldn't have that program or would have made the rules different. Get what you want! It's an investment and they will gladly take your money for whatever you buy, I'm sure!!

Amanda - That Paige Overalls edition for the Beco Gemini was what I wanted too and the owner of PAXbaby had told me there was ONE left if I wanted it (and even said I had first dibs!), but I was still waffling and totally missed my chance. I was so bummed.  All sold out. I don't want any of the other prints since I've heard the blacks especially fade with even one wash and, well, I just don't like any of them enough. It sucks because I really liked so many of their older discontinued prints!

But I think it might've been for the best. I didn't want to wait any longer for new Gemini prints to surface that I would like, and I'm sick of trolling Ebay. Haha. I ended up finally deciding on the Boba 3G in dusk color. It's shipping to me right now!  I can't wait! Based on reviews and narrowing down my needs in a SSC, I think the Boba will be best for me. I like how it looks more comfortable for babies under the knees and is higher for tall kids. I hope it fits me comfortably since I haven't tried it. We'll see. Those safety buckle issues on the Gemini that you mentioned seemed to be one of the most annoying things people complained about in reviews. I'm not very coordinated with that sort of thing. It would probably drive me nuts. I also decided that if I want to do hip or forward-facing carries with Sora, I can just use my Baby K'tan. I'm okay with just the front and back carries of the Boba. I bought this retractable mirror so I can see Sora when she's on my back. Joanie, I know the place I'm doing my trial with has three in stock. I'm going to see if I can get one. :) Yeah, the safety buckles are a little ridiculous. I guess it's super safe since your baby is sometime literally stuck to you until you can get someone else to help!

I still think the Boba is cuter and just looks like the best positioning for the baby. But the comfort (for me) and versatility of the Gemini is awesome. I was very grateful for the hip carry last night. I had already been wearing Jasper for hours during the day. Then, I took dd1 and dd2 to rock climbing. (Dd1 is on a team, dd2 just went to play around on the auto belay walls.) Anyway, I had to wear Jasper for the entire two hours. At one point, he was all, "Hey, ma, I love you, but I've been staring at your f****ing clavicle for six hours now. I'm done." (Sorry, Jasper has a potty mouth.) So, I surprised him with the hip carry. Different view, instant happiness. Then, I proceeded to nurse him in the hip carry while hooking and unhooking the auto belay for dd2. So that's my Gemini commercial.

I put the Boba on tonight to cook dinner. I wore it lower like you suggested, J, and it was much more comfortable. 

Btw, I know the Gemini is only for up to 35 lbs. When do kids get to be 35 lbs? I know I wore dd2 until she was 3 ish.

My Paige Overall Gemini came yesterday, and I am in love with it. It is so pretty!!  I will have to post pics when I don't look like crap.

Anyone have any tips for exercises that relieve lower back pain? I'm used to having shoulder and upper back pain from my Mei Tai. SSCs put more pressure on my lower back, which is good, but I am not used to it. I can't even lean over to nurse from both breasts while staying on one side without my back seizing up.

I've had my Boba 3G for a week now, and I like it a lot so far!  It took a few wears to get it adjusted correctly and comfortable, but now I've got it situated and feeling great. I just noticed these little elastic thumb tab thingies under the armpits that made my life a million times easier to adjust the carrier perfectly in a snap. Thank god I accidentally noticed them today! This is the freakin' easiest carrier on the planet. I can get baby in it and on me in a matter of seconds. I like where the extra height of the body cradles the baby's head really well too. It is so cute... like a baby in a backpack!  Okay I guess I can't say enough good things about this Boba. Haha. I will admit that the first few times I wore it, I was beyond frustrated, feeling pain in the wrong spots, and totally wondered if I had made a big mistake by getting it. I'm glad I stuck it out and fiddled with adjustments some more so now it's just plain awesome!

The booklet that comes with the carrier says not to carry the baby on your back until >20 lbs. Sora turned 4 months old today, though, and I notice that a lot of other people carry their babies on their backs way before 4 months... Is it okay for me to try it? I'm not sure but I think Sora is around 15-ish lbs.
