vaginal itching - 3rd trimester

Has anyone ever experienced vaginal itching in their 3rd trimester perhaps after intercourse? I was just tested for yeast and bacteria and it came back negative but the itching can be a bit severe at times enough to alarm me. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Me! My entire 3rd trimester has been this way. Basically, if DH doesnt pull out it itches me like crazy. Feels like a yeast infection, but I have been tested for yeast and BV twice so far and nothing. For me, I also notice it whenever I go more than like 12 hours without washing down there. I think a lot of it might have to do with how much we pee. Ive switched toilet papers like 5 times, and now Im using cloth wipes with water on it when I pee.

Yup, I had it in the 2nd trimester also, what helped was remembering to take my pro biotic and washing (with plain water) directly after intercourse. I also changed my laundry soap and only wash my girly bits with water, not sure if that made a difference or not. I thought there was something horrible wrong with me since the itch was maddening.

My OB actually suggested soaking in a bath with baking soda. I havent tried it yet, so I dont know if it works. My itching has subsided for now.

Consider the fabric of your underwear and clothing.  Though the test for yeast and bacteria came back negative, I would suggest still lowering yeast/sugar (floor products, any sugar based foods, pasta) and dairy intake.  Also, within the metaphysical philosophy, itching can reflect a reaction to fear.  It may help to examine any fear that you may be experiencing or coming up.

Take good care,

Nicole
