My DD is 22 months and will usually still take a nap (skips it about once a week, sometimes more lately) and i suspect the nap is going to be leaving us by the time spring rolls around if not sooner. I know she isn't ready for no nap physically but i can only fight her so much on it and she has been a chronic nap fighter since DAY ONE. Anyway- when your tot stopped napping how did YOU adjust? I'm so used to getting a 3 hour nap break to read, watch tv, clean, do my nails etc. She used to do 10 hours at night and a 3 hour nap but lately she has been sleeping in in the mornings all of the sudden and getting 12 hours at night as a result. I've thought of waking her at 6 again to get the nap back but i'm not sure that is a good idea? Maybe this is just her way of naturally consolidating her sleep? Anyway i'm not sure how in the heck I am going to deal with this. I guess a quiet time? How did you fill those extra hours in the day. Did anyone else's child go suddenly from a really long nap to no nap like that? How long do you have your child stay in quiet time and what do they get to play with/do? I'm thinking i might do a half hour of her having to stay in her crib with maybe her glow light and then a half hour of a kids show in the play pen so i at least still get an hour of ME time...
