Ovarian Cysts after Hysterectomy

I had a hysterectomy (kept ovaries) on October 18th.  I got a small cyst on one ovary but now have a bigger one on the left ovary.

Have you ever had a medium/large ovarian cyst? What did your gyn suggest you do? Surgery? Wait to see if it goes away/ruptures on it's own?

Yeah, I'll be calling my regular gyn in the morning but I want to hear from other women who have been through it. My cyst is 5 centimeters (actually, 4x4x5). 

It's now starting to cause pain.

Hi, I had an 8 cm cyst all throughout my first pregnancy and then 3 months postpartum.  They told me it could be cancerous and had to come out.  They ended up taking the entire ovary with it and it was not cancerous.  It is one of my greatest health regrets.  I miss my ovary!

Have you read the book "Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom"?  Dr. Christiane Northrup has a wealth of information on dealing with ovarian cysts holistically.  Diet might be a good place to start.  But then there's also the effect of blocked energy in the body and certain emotional patterns you might be holding onto (if any of that resonates with you).  That book might be a good place to start (she probably has a website with info too).

Ended up in the hospital from Wedn til this afternoon.  ugh.  Cyst is bigger.  Gyno was supposed to come see me in the hospital this morning but she didn't.  Now I have to wait until Wednesday to see her.  (she told my hospital doctor that she set up an appointment for me.)
