Hi,

I am trying to do research for my daughter-in-law.  Are there any Dr's or midwives that allow natural birthing?

Thanks

I have heard good things about Suzy Martincak:

She is a homebirth midwife though.  We have a birth center in Tallahassee (the Birth Cottage) that some people travel to for something in between a home and hospital birth.

Thanks for the info.  I have looked at your site but my daughter in law isn't comfortable with traveling that far.  We are in Port St Joe.  I wish you were closer or there was a birth center close.  She isn't quite ready for a homebirth, this is her first.  She would love to use a birth center.  So I am doing reasearch and looking into a Dr that is natural minded. : )  I was actually in Tally yesterday grocery shopping with my daughter at New Leaf & Earth Fare.

Oh, I am not actually affiliated with the birth cottage.  I am a doula in Tallahassee so I know of a lot of resources here (and in other parts of Florida).  I was also at Earth Fare yesterday, LOL.

She is right in the middle of the birth centers that I know of (there is also Gentle Birth Options, LLC in Niceville and Milton Memorial Birthing Center in Laurel HIll but I don't know much about that one).

This looks like it would be a good resource for your daughter-in-law:

Contact the doulas in the area and ask for recommendations.

thanks, I will check out the doula list.  She wants a doula for sure.

If you were at Earth Fare the same time we were you couldn't of missed us.  We were the 2 crazy ladies with 2 overflowing baskets LOL  My daughter shops for the month when she goes there and buys alot of bulk flour and stuff : )
