spotting before period due???

i've been a big-time lurker the past few months... i have been trying to conceive since july. had a very early loss in august. ever since, it's been BFN's every month.

december was the first time i used ovulation tests and DTD two times in 24 hours after a positive test. 

period's due on jan 9th... i usually have 28 or 29 day cycles. i took two pregnancy tests yesterday and today--- both BFN :( 

i'm having some light spotting today... four days before period is due? this isn't normal for me. what could it be? implantation bleeding? i feel like every month i keep my hopes high and then it's shattered so i'm very cautious, esp after two negative tests.

wondering if anyone experienced anything like this? could this be a sign of a problem or... pregnancy?

I'm really sorry about your loss and the BFNs since then.  You'll have to wait and see if the spotting you're having now turns into your period or not.  I've become pregnant 3 times and all 3 times I've had spotting on exactly 11 dpo (so for a typical 14 day luteal phase, that would be 3 days before my period was due).  It was either pink or brown in color and normally mixed in with some cervical discharge.  So it's very possible that the spotting is an implantation sign!  If your period hasn't arrived in a couple days, then test again.

I am in the same boat as you. I went for a blood test today, but the results were not conclusive. I have the lowest hcg that a pregnant woman can have, technically a positive, but on the other hand, like you, I had a loss a while back (more recently than you), so it could just be the lingering hcg from that. I asked the doctor what the spotting could be, if it wasn't pregnancy and she was pretty non-committal with her answer. "It's hormonal," she said. Like that tells me anything. But in any case, she said that if it wasn't pregnancy, it likely wasn't anything serious either. I guess all we can do is wait. Fingers crossed for you!
