Diapers or not?

So Charlie has started being very fussy about his diaper.

I think.

He gets very fussy every time he pees in it, anyway. And he fussed when I tried to put one back on him just now - but that might have been due to the rather impressive boner he was sporting.

I just left him out of it, but.

We probably could EC. I suppose. If he made him less unhappy.

For those of you who do or have, what's the best resource? Or do you just make it up?

I read the EC forum, there was a lot of information in there.  It's not hard to figure out.  I bought an online book called EC simplified.  They say diaper free is the best way to learn their cues and to start cuing them when they go if you can deal with the clean up.  It might be a little more difficult because as they get more active, they get distracted and cue less so there are some misses initially until they settle down.  5 months definitely isn't too late to start.

I've tried watching it before and never figured it out. Pooping sometimes, but never peeing. His skin is just so sensitive!

Thank you :) How's it going for you?

HawaiianBlesing  - I wanted to ask you this (you are the only one I know who ECs) - DD has been waking up at 6.30am making noises w her mouth (farting noises), and than she farts. Lately I realize, she poos very soon after that as well. Do you know this to be a way babies signal their needs?

a clearer way of asking this would be, how does your LO signal at night time?

Beckily, we are on the similar boat. The minute she pees on prefold dipes she HAS to be changed or else we hear about it LOUD and CLear.

My little guy gets super wiggly and starts to rouse but is not interested in nursing.  He scoots up toward the head of the bed and just makes noise in general that is different to his "normal" noises.  I keep a little potty by the side of my bed that I use for night pottying.  Before that, I would take him into the bathroom, turn the light on dimmly and use the EC position over the sink.  Having a receptacle by my bed is much easier although I do end up getting out of bed to empty it if he poos.  If he pees, I just stick a prefold in there to absorb the liquid and reduce my chance of spills.  Hope that helps.
