DD has tested at a 6 when she was 14 months and again when she was 19 months. We are having her tested again in 3 months. Her ped. is not overly concerned, but she does want to keep on top of it.
I know officially 10 is the number to really worry about, but I read an article today saying that the lead poisoning threshold is really 5. So my question is, for moms who have BTDT, is 6 a number to be really scared about? We live in an 82 year old home and I'm sure there is some lead paint below many many layers of paint, but there is no chipping paint anywhere and we try to wet dust frequently. The paint jobs in each room are recent and high quality. We try to keep mostly wooden and cloth toys, but there is definitely some plastic mixed in, but DD doesn't put things in her mouth the way she used to.
I don't want to totally freak out over something if it isn't a huge issue, but lead poisoning really frightens me. Any advice?
