A proud HSing moment...

We don't have a vehicle right now... I have 4 young kids, and getting groceries for our whole family has been quite a chore the last 2 months or so. DH usually rides the bus, and gets what he can.  He's not so good at picking out food... it's always been my job.  Right now, I have an 11 week old who needs me and my boobies at home... so DH sucks it up and goes.

Well, I just found out that Safeway delivers for a REALLY good price.  Four bucks actually.  So I ordered a bunch of crap yesterday.  I say crap, because it really was.  I ordered stuff I would never buy in an actual store.

Anyway... the order showed up this morning.  I gave my 3 older boys granola bars that they'd never had before.  Here's the conversation I had with my 7 year old:

"Mom, these granola bars are so good!  And still... I can't believe that George Washington made them."

"..... what?"

"The guy on the box."

"Baby, that's the Quaker oats dude... not our first president."

Lol... I think we'll dust off our book of presidents tomorrow morning.

What a cute story! Do write it down for him!

That's wonderful that you found a grocery shopping option that works better. The independently owned grocery in the town where my husband works will shop for anyone for free. You just come in and pick up the already bagged items and pay for them. I think only senior citizens and businesses usually use the service, but I'm mustering up the courage to ask for it as well. Even though we do have transportation, I have two toddlers with special needs who we're adopting through foster care plus my two olders, which makes it very difficult to shop. I can totally see myself ordering things I wouldn't buy in the store too!
