a collection of weird symptoms, what's wrong with me?

All of this has started very recently and I don't know if it's connected or what it means.  Help, please!

One of my kids and I both have a weird brownish-green tongue coating.  His was very thick before I noticed it and it peeled off in big chunks which made his tongue bleed slightly.  I brush my tongue and scrape it daily so on me, it's more a discoloration that a coating.

I've been having a very itchy vulva lately, and now it's extending to the back, too.  For a while the skin inside the labia, between the vaginal opening and the clitoris, was cracked and bleeding.  I did raw ACV rinses and packed the whole area with plain yogurt, but neither helped very much at all.

These two things make me think yeast.  I'm working on a plan for that.

But here's the other really weird thing I've got going on...my period is totally messed up.  All my life, since menarche, I have had a 28 day cycle.  I called AF "Old Faithful".  Aside from the two interruptions from pg and bf, I could anticipate the onset of each bleed to the hour, just by paying attention to my bodily cues.

During 2011, I skipped a period or two.  I am not sexually active, so there was no chance of a missed pg/miscarriage.  I tend to get hot flashes once or twice a week, and my mother had ceased menstruating in her early 40s, so I thought I was getting ready to enter menopause on the early side (35).

So after a my first-ever 60-something day cycle, I now have AF again just 2 weeks after she left!  Another weird thing is that I haven't had any cramping at all during this and also my last 2 periods.  Usually I cramp so badly I feel like I'm reliving labor!  And also, for the last year, I have been having an additional discomfort when using my Diva Cup.  I've had it since 2004 and the pain only started last year.  But now this is my third period where I had neither the DC pain nor regular cramps.

And for the icing on the TMI cake...this period and the last one that just ended 2 weeks ago have been the clottiest ones I have ever had in the 22 years I have been menstruating.  One was so big I don't know how I didn't feel it coming through the cervix.  It filled the DC just by itself.

Any and all comments and suggestions are welcome!  TIA

I'm not sure what types of therapy you're open to trying, but did you know that a big part of traditional Chinese medicine actually involves evaluating the tongue for underlying health issues? Yes , I agree that your symptoms point to yeast, but something is off-balance in your entire system. I thought of TCM for you because while I'm definitely not against Western medicine, I find that it's limited in that it can only treat the "parts" while TCM looks at the Whole. Along with any anti-fungal and probiotic remedies, I'd look into TCM/acupuncture. Sorry that I can't provide answers for you, but I think a TC doctor could. Good luck!

From my experiences, I'd have to guess it could be bacterial, fungal, hormones or cysts. I've experienced all of thee above at some point or another and they've given me symptoms similar to yours but not all of them. In particular, ovarian cysts have messed up my cycle a lot causing me to bleed much more than usual including causing some clots - but not as big as you had. That's about all the advice I can think to offer. I hope this helps or you at lest find some answers soon.

I'm definitely open to TCM!  I tried self-diagnosing my tongue from internet pictures, but I haven't seen a single one that lokos like mine and ds's.

Funny you mention cysts, MamaKye...that was the guess of a friend I spoke to today.  I guess I posted too soon, because that weird pain came on in the middle of the night and has been coming and going in waves all day.

I have a check-up with my MD tomorrow but I may start looking for a Chineese practitioner anyway.

Thanks to you both!
