So last Friday night (Dec 30), dd1 (5 1/2) threw up. She seemed fine after and the next day she had no symptoms so we wrote it off as blood sugar or something. But the following night/early morning, she threw up twice more and all day Monday she was wiped out laying on the couch, low appetite etc. Ped said on Tuesday it sounded like a virus. She got better and was back to normal by Wednesday.
On Thursday night, dd2 (2 1/2) started acting clingy and mellow and then she threw up. But then all day Friday and Saturday she acted fine except more picky about food than usual (which isn't saying much, since she's outrageously picky anyway). And then last night she went to bed around 7 (only a little early for her), woke up at 8 or 9 and threw up again. All over the place, especially me. Gross.
She went back to sleep and slept until 5am and then wanted to be up, but I got her back to sleep with me for an hour or so. She finally got up around 7:30 and insisted on dashing out to the front room "see mommy it's light out now!" but once I was up and out there with her...she could barely stand up or keep her eyes open.  Right now she's asleep in her pack n play and if i touch her chest she sort of wakes up, but she seems totally delirious.
So...I was kind of alarmed because dd1 did not show any sudden, rapid decline like this when she had whatever this is last week. She was just sort of blasé for a few days...but this morning it was a little freaky watching dd2 literally...worsen by the second. She is normally super energetic and hyper (even when sick) and she has never been this sick...but it doesn't seem like she should be this sick because her only symptom (other than the freaky lethargy) is two incidents of vomitting several days apart. she acts like she has a fever (chills, demanding sweaters and blankets and then ripping them off in tears minutes later), but she doesn't actually have a fever.
So no fever, no diarrhea...

So when to worry? Naturally its Sunday and the peds office is closed, so I'm turning to the Internet for help. Help! I always hear horror stories about kids who are fine one day and then the next they're dying of meningitis or something like that. I'm also 5 mos pregnant so that isn't helping me maintain any sort of perspective.

Thanks for any advice! Sorry this is so long! I hear that something like this has been going around, but seeing her get so much worse in a matter of minutes has totally freaked me out...
