Multivitamin

Not sure if I should be posting here or in "Health & Healing" but here it goes...

Multivitamins: Do you take them & if so, which do you take?

I have been taking Garden of Life Vitamin Code for the past few months, but given that they're SO pricey, I'm wondering if they're actually worth it.

I feel pretty good taking them. I actually like that they're not one-a-days (so I can control what I take -- I eat healthily so I don't think I need to take the full amount).

But I was trying to research brands, specifically for natural-type multis & it's hella hard to find any information out there that's useful.

I found some reviews from consumerlab.com, one of which reviewed the Vitamin Code (didn't contain all the vit. A that it claimed to) so it made me second guess my choice. But then again, their first choice was Centrum or something like that & I don't necessarily feel comfortable taking a chemical multivitamin.

So, what are your opinions on multivitamins. Do we need them? Which kinds are the best?

Thanks!

not really what you want to hear but-

we don't do vitamins but do take CLI

and some of our reasoning is - not being able to verify good companies (they all say their stuff is the best, etc) and comparing the cost

if you are spend X dollars a month on what you are taking how could you better spend that? (food wise) - we went with foods - to each their own but we are trying to add better foods vs mostly synthetic vitamins in our diets-

REAL foods = REAL vitamins

On the contrary, Serenbat, this is really useful! And I think you're right -- the extra money spent on real food is probably money better spent. I may just take a break from the vitamins & see what happens (though I think I'll stick with my probiotic & fish oil). I suppose the best approach would be to just tackle deficiencies instead of overdoing everything.

Btw, what is CLI?

We look at like I stated- it might mean adding things that we would not have budged for had we spent them on vits- a good fish once every week or a grass fed organic roast , flax and chia seeds, good eggs, etc

I just hate that sooooooo many are synthetic anyways!

you could try for a few months and see if you feel the difference

CLO (Typo!!) cod liver oil
