Fallback temps or false start?

Did not plan on testing or temping at all this month becasue last month stressed me so bad. I know my O day should be CD 18 so I just planned to DTD on CD 15,17, and 19 to cover all bases and let the chips fall where they may.

Well on CD14 I was bored to death and decided to that I would take an OPK just for the fun of it. To my shock it turned + within 5 seconds of my urine hitting the strip. I was completely shocked! This was not my time and also I did not have any intention on testing or temping. So anyways, here is what happened.

-CD 14 + opk (instead of CD 18 +), thought to myself no way and did a CP check which was high and soft.

-CD 15 decided to temp to see if I was maybe going to ovulate and temps were 97.05 which is consistent with what I would expect on  CD 15 (BDed that night just in case),

-CD 16 temp spike to 97.34 which is what temp I would expect to see the day following O. So I got pretty excited and thought to myself wow, what luck to have caught ovulation and BDed when it happened at an off time. But I noticed a few odd things. I had some of the worst cramps I have ever had in the later part of night followed by extremely thick and sticky cm.

-CD 17 temp dip to 97.09, and CP high and hard. Also negative opk @10:00AM

So was this a false start or a fallback temp. How will I know? I don't have a chart to really show anyone since I did no temping or even CM or CP checks prior to CD 14 and my suprise +.

I would think the OPK was right, but it's hard to say! If your LP is a consistent length (and you don't conceive this cycle), you'll be able to look back and figure out what happened once AF starts. Keep BDing just in case!

Yeah I have never even heard of a fall back temp until today when my panic sent me straight to google. I guess time will tell. Either my temp will go back up tomorrow or it won't. Either way I will know then.
