Hartford Area Homeschoolers

Hi,

I am very interested in homeschooling my twin daughters.  They are only three right now but I would really like to connect with some local homeschooling moms - especially ones with preschool aged children.  I guess I just would like an idea of what kinds of support groups or coops, homeschool classes are available in this area.

Thanks!

You may want to contact the children's librarian at the Windsor library- she has done some programs in the past for homeschooled kids and it might be worthwhile to see if there are any coming up. Deb told me attendance was good and you might be able to hook up with some other homeschooling families this way!

There's a lot of offerings around the Hartford area, but none really in Hartford.  If you are east of the river you may want to look into the coop in Manchester that runs out of the Lutz Children's Museum.  I'm pretty sure they offer classes for younger kids.  I'm west of the river and we participate in a few different things, but no formal coops right now.  There are a few though, we did the Greenspring Coop in Middletown last year and enjoyed it.  They only offer a few classes for the younger ("preschool") crowd though.

There's a good email group on Yahoo for all of CT... if you aren't already on it, you may want to join:

Hope that helps!
