OPKs are really confusing, got a BFN OPK last night and a faint line this morning, I guess that's why they tell you to stop testing after a positive. I'm just going to save the rest for my cycle next month (the don't expire till CD11 next month). Going to try to BD tomorrow morning for added measure.

Cassandraz...   I ignore that "expires 30 days after opened" thing. I've stretched a box of OPKs out over 4-5 months! Just toss them in a ziplock. :)

will do smile.gif

I'm just a little upset angry.gif I was so glad to see a 100% negative test last night, I just wanted to confirm this morning, we really didn't try this cycle, so I wanted to be sure the ovulation period had passed and I don't have to test for pregnancy this cycle.

I have a feeling my egg likes to hang around for as long as possible.

This week has gone by quickly, I feel like I didn't have enough time to try guilty.gif I'm usually not online during the weekends, hope everyone try's really hard this month, so I can be excited for y'all.

Cassandra: I actually don't stop testing OPKs until I have confirmed ovulation with a clear temp shift.  I have false alarms before the real deal actually happens.  I get a smiley on CD8 or 9 that lasts for one day, maybe half a day, then a few days later I get another smiley that last for about 2 days and that's usually the one that triggers my ovulation which I confirm with temps.  I guess my body just ramps up.  Other months, I won't get a smiley at all, which freaks me out even more until I see the clear temp shift on my chart.  From what I've read, it isn't uncommon for you to have multiple surges before ovulation actually takes place.  Just keep peeing until your chart confirms ovulation.  There is no sense in testing OPKs after your chart confirms ovulation, unless I guess you are curious or really feel the need to pee on a stick every day.  smile.gif

SkinnyLoveBC: I'm in Colorado Springs! I love it here.  I think you are right about Colorado being the home brewing captial of the US.  There is always something to drink if you are thirsty in Colorado!

AFM: My DH's referal for his SA came through yesterday and they wanted to schedule it for my fertile window, which means that he would have to abstain for 2 - 5 days prior to the test and that is just NOT going to happen!  So he is going to call and have it scheduled towards the end of my TWW or at the time when I might get my AF, just incase his swimmers are fine, we won't be wasting a cycle. Fingers crossed that this is our cycle!

Graduate lurking around and chart stalking....privateeyes.gif

Stevi!!!!!  I know that you don't get your hopes up but my hopes for you are pretty darn high right now.  I'm sending the hugest, most powerful implantation/sticky vibes to you.

AndTheStars...   Awww, thank you! Keep in mind while you're stalking that FF does not have my O date correct. I am either 8 or 9 DPO, not 10. I ovulated the day of, or the day after the positive OPK.

RavenMadMommy - Haha, your post cracked me up! Exciting times, let us know how you go. Fingers crossed!

naynay455 - Welcome to the group! I'll add you to the 2WW in the thread starter :) Your chart is looking great, btw!

mylissa - At first I read 'My DH's rehearsal for his SA....' haha! A referral is also good! Did he manage to change the appointment? What crazy timing to have it right in your fertile window!

AFM - It's my husband's birthday on Monday, so I'm taking him on a surprise camping trip to the beach tonight. I'll be away until Tuesday (NZ time, so Monday North America time) so won't be able to make any changes to the thread until then. I'll start the new thread later today and post the link so you all can start posting in there when you like :)

Hi all. I have no clear idea when I ovulated this month. I was gearing up and then my LO got sick again. This is every cycle since we started trying, now. Maybe I am just not going to be able to pull this off in the winter. It was a doozy of a stomach virus that I got as well, and we are just getting back to normal... Stress!

So I thought I had probably ovulated as usual around CD12 (and our timing would be fine for that), but then a few days ago, CD15 or 16 I think, I started to have creamy, wet CM. We haven't tried this week because I don't want to expose my husband to the tummy thing and because it feels too raw to try to conceive when I've been so so sick and not eating, taking supplements, etc... So we either caught it or missed it, like every month.

Tonight, I think we made the decision for me to stay at home again, after working a pretty demanding 20 hour week for the past 8 or 9 months. My DD has some health challenges and I feel like they can't be handled well at her preschool... (Nutritional issues, kid won't eat, long story...) So, maybe my ambivalence about getting pregnant will cease when I feel a little more on top of my mom and home responsibilities...

I missed the Wednesday workout check-in. Nothing to  report except that I lost 5 pounds thanks to the stomach flu. Not my favorite diet.

Peace, love, luck and dust to all!

doularebekah: I love the song too! He has such a unique sound. It must be just perfect living in New Zealand--it looks so beautiful. Colorado is great, but it's funny how much I've gotten used to living here... Oh well, that's what traveling is for I guess! Have a great birthday with your husband!

myllissa: How neat that we're practically neighbors! I'm in Denver-ish. Hopefully, that means that we'll both get BFPs soon because the pregnancy vibes are extra concentrated. :-)

anyalily: I'm sorry you were sick! That sounds miserable. There's still hope though!!

So update- after the spotting for 2-3 days AF came in FULL FORCE (like I felt like my abdomen was beaten with a baseball bat) and super heavy.

I have no idea what this all means, but I ordered the OPK/PT kit from save on tests and it should be here in a few days. Wish me luck for next month, I'm ready to do this mom thing... I think?

Also- where do you guys do your charts? I am planning on doing that this cycle with the opk's, but I'd like to find a good site.

KatCooke...   Most of us use Fertility Friend, the other popular one is Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

BTW ladies, doularebekah put up the new thread... http://www.mothering.com/community/t/1341952/the-one-thread-jan-15-22#post_16828999

Think Fertile Thoughts!!!!

Doularebekah so sorry to hear that it hasn't worked out yet. Sounds like you have a good plan. I'm curious about the gall bladder cleanse you mentioned, how do you do that?

mamaforever  sending prayers your way for peace - both in your mind and in your body

I'm kicking myself for not temping this whole cycle, I only started on CD9 and it was pretty high for me for pre-ovulation but Fertility Friend is using it as the coverline temp and since my CM was totally wacky this month, I don't really know when I ovulated. Temp went back down this am so we'll see if I can go back to my "normal" cycle next month. Go figure, you can have a totally normal rhythm of cycles and the month you start to TTC, it's all wacky and your hubby's testicle is infected. Happy for all the BFPs and full of hope for the rest of us for next month.

Thanks to whoever it was that sent me the link to the acronyms - so helpful.

Meant to add my chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/3a56f8

Hi,

A friend told me to come to this website for support. Everyone around me is getting pregnant, and it is just not happening for me and my husband. I don't know how to deal with this. I want to be happy for other people, but I am so sad. My husband is as sensitive as a rock. He wants a baby, but I don't think he wants one as badly as I do. So guys, hw do you deal with it??
