Mammamo- (sad story btw..my heart goes out to them), you can make the cream...there is tons of "recipes" online, I just called my midwife/ob office and they called in a script...though I could see how that might be ackward in your case ;-) If you think you *might* need to see an LC it is probably worth doing! Mine have been helping so much!
I have an appointment for Naomi this coming Tuesday with a chiro experienced in treating breastfeeding babies! He doesn't take insurance though, so I'm calling another chiro who is newer I think but also specializes in pediatric/maternal care.
I am going to try and get N to get evaluated by the ped for a (posterior) tongue tie and if they won't do it or don't think she has go ahead and ask for a referral to a speech and/or occupational therapist. MY mom is working on getting contact info for this awesome LC that spoke at a LLL confernece we went to last year so I may see her if my insurance will cover her (I'm not sure since I do not think she is in my part of the state). I kind of always suspected DS2 had a posterior tongue tie but never really pursued it..he gained weight and breastfed ok (not great) and eventually my milk supply went down and we supplimented and eventually he refused the breast...similar story to now except I think he nursed a little better than N. He's 2 so I am not sure how well he understood lol, but, I tried to get him to put his tongue in different positions earlier and he did all kinds of wierd movements then he said "I can't mama" and I felt kind of bad for asking him! Then I put my finger in his mouth and his tongue does still look kind of tight...watching N when she cries I had thought she was lifting her tongue, but, watching closer she just lifts it a little - that I saw anyway...so not sure, but, I am definitly going to try and get a second or third opinion on it. I'm kind of feeling like I'm crazy LOL...kind of like a mama BEAR!!!! ROARRRRR!!!! As you can see I am feeling much better...I chatted with my mom on the phone for an hour and my dad was in the background with all types of humor which just lifted my spirits.
Sierra- so glad it went well today, I was really thinking of you!
Can I jsut say working from home with 3 kids is disasterous??? I still haven't gotten anything done and my "hours" were 1:30-3:30!!! I think I forgot to put the AM on that when I said what I could work LOL I haven't made dinner either (of course here I sit, but, I can only focus so long..I'm scheduling staff and facility space and it is tedious and not fun!)
And I want a cold beer...I don't even drink beer (do love wine and other girly drinks) but I really am ust craving a beer..not even the alcohol I don't think lol...think I will ask my little bro to stop by with one tomorrow haha...what kind is good for milk supply? Might as well make it extra worth the while! I'm on a roll...I feel like I have new strength from somewhere...I feel like a fireball lol - like I'm 18 again (maybe not entirely lol)
