Toddler Drank From Dog's Bowl. Now has gritty poop.

Oh boy I feel like a terrible mom.  My nearly 18 month old drank from the dog's bowl about 4 days ago and has had dark sandy / gritty liquidy stools since then.  They are liquid with these little hard dark sand like bits that are impossible to wipe off her bottom.  This also happens to coincide with starting a toddler program last week, so I am not sure if she has a bug or if I should be taking her into the doctor.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

If you're a terrible mom, I should have my kids taken away!  haha

I doubt the poop issue stems from a sip off the dog bowl.  It's probably a bug from school.  Try offering binding foods and if it doesn't clear up, go to the ped for peace of mind.  :)

Thanks!  I will give it a day or two and some binding foods and see if it clears up.  I usually like to wait a bit before seeing a doctor to see if we can heal ourselves at home, but wanted to make sure I wasn't way off base here.
