What does National Midwifery Institute include for $12k

Quote from NMI website "Heart & Hands and Study Group Course Work fees, administrative fees and preceptor fees total $12,000. The cost of housing, books, materials and equipment are not included. Application to NMI is $30."

$12,000 for H&H course work (that's only around $1,200), admin fees and a preceptor? The tuition doesn't include any books? And what materials and equipment do I need to purchase? What else do you get? $12k is a lot for a study guide and grading/evaluations.

I'm sure this is all explained in the handbook, but I don't have it yet. I'm dying to know! Kind of wondering why they don't have a PDF version of the handbook.....what are the admission requirements?

I should have added...to any midwife preceptors, which student midwife program do you most like working with apprentices from and why? Or, do you prefer the PEP path for your apprentices?

I'm assuming a majority of the fees are to compensate your preceptor(s)? Not all midwives charge to take on an apprentice, but maybe with NMI they have to do a lot of teaching of textbooks?

I'd say email them for a breakdown of what the tuition covers.
