After much thought about homesteading this year is finally the time for me to make the transition. I have been acquiring many items for this over the past year and am at the point where I have to move as I have run out of space in my current location. I am looking at AL as a location currently due to the fact that land can be much more affordable there than it is here? I recently visited a couple already homesteading there and honestly I did not want to leave !

My questions here is, want has been peoples process to transitioning into their own homestead? For the past few months I have really struggled with letting go of what has been a semi-comfortable life thus far? My company that I work for recently has been  caught up in a 1 billion+ dollar scandal and I find myself now at 47 with no retirement and no options really? This event has urged me to spend the next 10 years in investing in myself with the sole purpose of being out of the system. My plans are to buy property as soon as I can sell my current house. I have so many things I want to get started on but feel I am behind the 8 ball with both time and space?

I would love to chat with others who have progressed into their homestead already and who would share pitfalls they may have encountered?
