DS who is 3 1/2, started a wet cough almost 2 weeks ago almost out of nowhere....He doesn't seem to cough at night or at least he isn't coughing enough to wake me up. I am running a vaporizer at night and have him on SA and Burried Treasure's Childrens ACF. The only time his cough is a little "dry" is first thing in the morning, he will have a dry cough for the first few times and then whatever is in his chest starts breaking up.... Lately in the last couple of days he doesn't start coughing until after her eats something.Â
Â
I though about whooping cough because he had a EXTREMELY mild cold about 2 weeks (a little more than 2 weeks) before his cough started but he has never had a fever and hasn't acted sick at all. He does seem a tad more tired than usual but only a teeny tiny bit. His cough also doesn't fit the usual cough that goes with WC.Â
Â
I am thinking it is bronchitis but not sure how long I can let it go without taking him into the Dr. which I am trying to avoid.....I should also add his diet is atrocious! In the last couple of months he has cut his once well rounded diet down to organic yogurt, applesauce, peanut butter and (I am so terribly embarrassed to admit) some all natural chicken nuggets. He got introduced to the last one by his cousins and I was the stupid one to bring them into the house....Anyways..... I don't know what happened he ate all sorts of fruits and veggies and beans and very little meat. I know that dairy is not helping but I am going thru my own health problems and have just been too tired to fight him. My only saving grace is that he is at least eating a mostly organic diet even if it is organic junk.

His sister who is 7 yrs. just now started the same thing last night but my other dd who is 5 has yet to start the cough...and they are together all day everyday pretty much as they are homeschooled. So he has done his fair share of spreading his cough on everything including their beds and things.Â

I am just wondering because my neighbor across the street (who is a nurse practitioner) has me paranoid because her daughter was in the hospital 3 times for pneumonia in the last year. But she had a fever and the first 2 times she started her on an antibiotic which ended up not working which I believe only made things worse.Â
